“Excellent apartments for an excellent price”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 August 2010

We stayed here for 3 nights for a hen weekend. I must say I was quite apprehensive about staying at these apartments having read some of the reviews however, I can honestly say that they were great.

The apartments were decorated nicely with lots of space. We had a two bedroom apartment. One with a double bed and an en suite, the other with twin beds next to another bathroom. There was a large balcony to the front which could be accessed from the twin bedroom and the living room. There was also a balcony to the back with access from the double bedroom and access to a smaller balcony from the kitchen. The kitchen was fully equipped with all that you could need for a really long stay including toaster, microwave, toastie maker etc.

We booked through booking.com however, it did appear that the apartment was owned by somebody and rented out. There was a TV, DVD player, SKY box, reading books etc. The showers were really powerful however, they do go cold if you are the last one in.

The pool was really nice but there are sometimes a shortage of beds. There are a few pools on this complex but we didnt check them all out, we just stayed at the one nearest to us.

Over the road from the hotel is a little restaurant which serves great food at great prices. They do a 3 course fixed price menu for 9.95 in the day and 12.95 in the evening. This included a choice of 3 starters, 3 mains and 3 desserts and included dishes like steaks and sea food on the menu. This was well worth the money and cheaper than anywhere near the harbour.

The harbour was expensive but we already knew that it would be before we went and we only went to drink and party so it was fine. For spirit and mixer or bottles of alcopops you are looking at around 6/7 Euro's. Half a lager was about 3 Euro's. Wine was about 6 Euros.

Anyone going to this part of Spain I would recommend a trip to Nikki's Beach. It's a VIP beach club just outside of Marbella. They have large sun loungers that are like double beds and play music all day long. Everyone is up dancing and they have dancers on podiums. You can sunbathe on the beach or rent one of their beds for 150 euros for the day. This sounds like a lot but if you are going for a hen weekend and want something a bit more special then its well worth springing the money especially when you can fit about 4 of you on a bed and so can split it. you also get free champagne when you rent a bed. there were people running around spraying people with champagne. Definitely worth a visit.

If you want to visit Marbella the easiest way to do it is to get a boat from Puerto Banus harbour. It takes about 30 mins and is 15 Euro's return. Its also a nice little boat ride and better than a taxi. We took a taxi from here to Nikki's beach.

For nights out we got the best deals at Linekars bar. Sinatras is also very good. If you are going on a hen or stag weekend or for any special occasion you can go on Linekars website and book one of their packages, most of which are free. For example we had a private booth, free champers on arrival, a banner with the hens name on it, a waiter and lots of free shots. All of this for free. Its worth doing especially cus the place gets really busy and you feel thankful for having somewhere to sit down if you want to.

Would definitely go back to Puerto banus and would stay at these apartments again. taxi from the apartments to the harbour is about 7 Euro's. The restaurant from over the road is happy to order one for you.

I went to marbella for the weekend with friends and we stayed in senorio de aloha apartments they were great had everythink you need, only 15 mins walk from port i would stay in them again if i went back ,there is a little restaurant buy the entrance which is ok for anyone how does not want to walk far but you must try the chinese called zen just up the hill to the left its sign posted there is also a cafe/restaurant called the starz which is great for breakfast and lunch but if you are on a buget the supermarket is just next to the starz cafe ,we had to pay 100 pounds deposit for each apartment as bond and you get it back at the end of your stay we lost a set of keys to one of the apartments so we lost the deposit as they said they had to replace the locks on the door so be careful you only get 1 set of keys per apartment its a little expensive in the port but you can do it on the cheap if you are not going clubbing ore you dont go to ocean club overall thums up for marbella .

“'costa del noise' - stags and hens abound....”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 July 2009

stayed here for 10 days... apartment okay but the general complex was not good.
We had to deal with a lot of noise from the surrounding apartments into the early hours of every morning! lots of broken glass around the paths which was not swept up during our 10day stay... didnt use the complex pools as it was mobbed by stag and hen parties types - . we will definitely not be reivsiting this complex and will do our best to avoid the now raucous puerto banus too in the future. It has changed considerably (and not for the better) since our last visit to this area 10 years ago.
oh, and there are a lot of residents with small yapping dogs who seemed to quite enjoy barking all night to the tunes of the stags and hens...

“A reasonable quality privately owned apartment complex”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 August 2008

The Senorio de Aloha complex consiste of 5 apartment blocks each of 4/5 stories around 3 pools about 20 minutes walk (short uphill and longer downhill) to Puerto Banus port.
We had booked privately with an apartment owner through holiday-rentals.com and the 2 bedroom and 2 bathroom apartment was perfectly adequate having front and back facing balconies, good air-con and reasonably spacious for 4 with a well equipped kitchen.
The pools were very well kept with crystal clear water. During the second week we did have to play the 'towels on sunbeds' game as the complex was busier (though clearly many aprtments were not in use). They could do with adding some more sunbeds to stop the rush. 24hour security was in place and there were no disturbances etc at night.
There is a good restaurant 'Cafe Pasta' opposite the site, a further Pizza restaurant close by and a good Indian and American restaurant 100m up the hill along with a supermarket, newsagents, a small Thai stall with some tables and a very small bar.
There are other restaurants in the vicinity but depending on the level of heat you may wish to drive rather than walk as the roads around are fairly hilly.
There is a good and large market 100m from the complex each Saturday morning.
Purto Banus itself is only OK. It is nice to walk through the harbour area and see the boats and supercars. However, unless you pay harbour prices there are only limited additional restaurants in the back streets. I cannot comment on the night life.
The main drawback of S de A that we found is that there are no decent bars within a short walking distance to relax with a cocktail or a beer etc in nice surroundings without walking all the way to the port.
Would I go to S de A again? Maybe for a cheap weeks get-away break, but not again for a fortnight. Mind you I would answer the same if the question was regarding Costa del Sol. It is perfectly adequate, very relaxing but unlikely to leave long lasting memories.

  • Liked — Well kept pools and grounds, quiet location, security
  • Disliked — Lack of bars in the immediate vicinity
