“An old but still decent hotel”

When yo first pull up to the hotel the first thing you notice is that the hotel was built in the late fifties early sixties(Its not decrepid but a little drab on the outside). Inside is generally a bit dated but very clean and my god is it big, massive entrance lobby huge hall ways and their is so much of it that alot of it seems unused. The rooms themselves(mine anyway) are great, hairdryer, telly, mini bar good big bed, on the ball house keeping and a big balcony and decent enough decor(all very clean). The pool area is the main attraction as its very exotic and with 2 huge pools and stacks of loungers and a pool bar. I did not use the sporting facilities(but from a glance they seemed to be their and fully the functioning). The cost of eating and drinking at the hotel if your not all inclusive is Marbella expensive and not reccommended(though bed & breakfast is ok). The beach at Atalaya Park is rubbish, small dirty and i'd rather lay on a bed of nails. All in all the Don Miguel is a dated hotel which is still functioning well, as it is in need of a facelift i would reccommend that any body going should only do so on a bed & breakfast basis as it is alot cheaper and you get to eat out in Marbella which is ace......Maybe until the hotel does the required renovation it should be domed to the realms of efficient yet cheap bargain holiday's !

“Hell on Earth”

Where to begin... The hotel is dirty with holes in the walls, the food was absolutely disgusting, the service was shaky at best, and our concerns were never appropriately addressed. We booked a double and were given twin beds (for me and my husband). Were told it would be addressed - seven hours later we opted to pay for an upgade to a suite rather than wait longer to go to sleep. All inclusive - four restuarants (only one open and was a buffet), shopping center (never opened for three days), four pools (indoor open, but very small - the children's pool was brown and opaque), needed to shuttle 15 km away to participate in golf and water activities (only ran at certain times of the day), and the other activities were each only offered once a week for an hour at a time. To top it off we ended up covered with bug bites from the bed bugs. Absolutely repulsive and we couldn't wait to leave.
I feel like we were robbed of our time and money during our three days at this "resort".

“Not impressed”

i went to the Don Miguel with my boyfriend for christmas. The hotel itself is a lovley hotel but in need of some refurbishment, the indoor pool had paint peeling off the walls and the sauna and steam rooms were in such a state i wouldnt even go in there they looked as though they hadnt been cleaned in months.

There was no where to go in the evening apart from the piano bar and not everybody enjoys that sort of music especially seven nights in a row, there wasnt any other entertainment really!!

The hotel is not a family hotel there are stairs everywhere.

The staff are very friendly and helpful.

The food was ok, however both me and my boyfriend got food poisoning two days before we were due to go home and some over guests did too.

This hotel is a great place to go in the summer when theres lot going on and lots of people there but go self catering, dont go all inclusive ita a waste of money.

Personal i wouldnt be visting the Don Miguel again.

Nice Room, freindly staff and excellent food. One of the best winter breaks we have had in a long time. We will be going back.

“All Inclusive???”

A nice hotel, but very steep stairs everywhere. Not recomended for families with young children. Facilities in the room were very limited.
for example there was no kettle as described, and when we asked for one it was never sent to us. They have not grasped the all inclusive concept very well attall, as you do still have to pay for ice cream and crisps etc. There was a very small bar serving drinks by the pool, although we went in peak season and there was only 1 bar person serving an estimated 900 people. So as you can imagine it was no holiday! I would of enjoyed the holiday much more had i been with no children and not in peak season. The food was ok although no choice atall for the children, and our young boys ate very little all holiday! Last year we went on a REAL all inclusive where the service was excellent and it was alot less stressful!! We will not be returning!!
