“I'm a bit embarrassed to have stayed here...”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 November 2011

Yes, I think that's the best way of putting it.

I'm going to try and be fair writing this review, as so many people use Tripadvisor just to vent thier spleen. Tempting though it is to write about how dire this place is, I will hold back.

Myself and a mate stayed here for 4 nights in July 2011. It was heaving with trashy Brits, and as soon as we arrived we were laughing at how tacky, naff and cringeably crap it was.

However, this soon loses its appeal when you realise youre getting absolutely rinsed for cash at every avenue possible.

We were only there 4 days so went with the flow and had a good time. There was a live DJ by the pool every day playing urban R&B etc. We're House music people and were expecting somethign akin to Puro.... Nowhere near! R&B etc is not my scene. (I'm amazed its anybodys, its garbage)

Anyway, putting personal preferences aside, if you're 18-24, like R&B/Urban muisc, are happy to put aside the fact that this isn't actually a boutiquie hotel, and is in fact a bit of a hell hole, enjoy going to places populated by pretty rough, tacky Brits, are happy to get ripped off, then book here asap!

“The Most Amazing VIP Experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 November 2011

I booked this hotel as a surprise for my girlfriend to celebrate our engagement and had the most amazing time.

We were met at the airport by Kelvin, in the black Phantom Rolls Royce, and he had a lovely bottle of Angel champagne on ice ready for us to enjoy on route to the hotel.

We booked the Scarface suite for our stay. The room was amazing and we loved the Versace gold and black décor, the Tony Montana mural, the large terrace with the Jacuzzi and a super huge kingsize bed.

There was a pool party on the Friday hosted by the cast of TOWIE. We had pre booked a bed and were pleasantly surprised to find that the cost included Vodka and champagne. The atmosphere was amazing and we enjoyed rubbing shoulders with celebs, models and premiership footballers.

The hotel provides an in house concierge service and booked us tables in Pangea that night, Ocean club the next day and then into Dreamers nightclub. As hotel guests we were always welcomed as VIPs and were made to feel really special.

The weekend went so quickly but a huge thank you to everyone at Sisu that helped to give us the red carpet experience all times. We will definitely see you again next year.

“Average stay”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 October 2011

Very clean, this is a 2 star plus or basic 3. Very clean and the staff were very pleasant. The room does not have the 4 star touch, service and atmosphere. We read the comments after we booked and could not cancel our booking. Quiet at this time but can see a Benidorm tacky club holiday atmosphere in peak season. The pool area is very small and you are located on a very busy main road. Breakfast was lovely. Helpful tip: You can get a bus on the main road in Banus and Marbella.

“Wasn't impressed AT ALL!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 October 2011

We stayed here 1 night last month and that was enough! Totally agree about the lack of customer service - I could write many examples but I think there have been enough! Check out was a joke with 1 girl trying to do a million things at once (she was by far the nicest member of staff we encountered and she had every reason to be moody - unlike the staff members who actually were moody!!). We went to the bar to request a taxi as the girl at the reception desk was extremely busy and the bar staff refused to call one for us (despite the fact they were standing around doing nothing!)

The hotel have a very strange policy of charging you £50 when you check in just incase you use the minibar... never seen this before and I have stayed in a lot of hotels!!

At first glance, the room was nice... we even had a hot tub. After a few hours we discovered the shower leaked and soaked the bathroom, the balcony didnt lock, porthole windows didn't shut and as for the hot tub.. don't go near it! We turned ours on and jumped in, only to be suffocated by fumes that smelled and tasted like bleach. I ended up having a coughing fit and had to wash myself (in the leaking shower) thoroughly to ensure I was clean. My throat was sore for a week afterwards! Unfortunately, whilst I was trying to scrub myself clean, my very drunk friend was stupid enough to stay in said toxic hot tub and ended up very ill the next few days. I couldn't say for certain this was down to the hot tub but I strongly suspect it was. We did try to call reception to discuss this matter but of course there was no answer (have you ever stayed at a hotel where reception don't answer?!). I only wish I had the energy to complain the next day but really I just wanted to leave!

I very much doubt I will stay here again and wouldn't recommend it. Try the H10, it is the lesser of 2 evils! :)

Room Tip: Stay somewhere else!

“Fab hotel”

Returned yesterday from this hotel, ive now stayed here 5 times, the hotel is in a great location, a few miles out from Puerto Banus, but only 7-8 euros taxi fare in to town. I used to come here when it was the Hotel Locremar, the hotel itself has been revamped, although the rooms are pretty much still the same with a touch of red and a retiled bathroom. Overall this is a nice hotel, that is a good price for the area.

My only advice would be that as your about 70km from the airport, if there are only a couple of you, then hire a car, we found a deal for the weekend that was about £50 all in. As its 70-80 euros each way, it can really make a difference.
