“Nice for business”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 January 2012

Very close to the station, modern and new hotel.
Very big room with big flat tv.
Huge bathroom
Free sauna and pool (but at the evening its hard to swith on the light in the pool, if its posibble at all)
Nice breakfast
Good strong free wi-fi signal

A little bit far from the heart of the city, but you will have nice short walk.

Dear Sir,
Thanks for the review of our hotel.
One of the highly valued by our customers is to have wi-fi (in connection and navigation) in every room of our hotel. The key that we have assigned the access can be used in any store in our chain.
I reiterate our thanks for your stay and your comments.Hope to see you again for Malaga or any of our properties in Cadiz, Huelva and Seville.

“Nice hotel, friendly helpful staff and wonderful food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

My wife and I stayed in this hotel on the last night of our first trip to Spain having spent the main part in the Novotel in Seville.

We chose it having read the other reviews and we were not dissappointed. Rather than rambling on I will make my comments in what was good and less good.

The good:

The staff were first rate being efficient and very friendly

The room was a good size very clean and well presented

Facilities in the room were good with a HD widescreen television, complimentary wifi, safe and fridge

We had dinner in the hotel and chose the fillet of brill as the main course - It was one of the best fish courses I have had anywhere. Once again the service was excellent

The less good:

Nothing really.

If I was being really fussy I wasn't particularly keen on the 'lino type' flooring in the room or its location near the docks.

However we were aware of these points when our booking was made and will definitely stay again due to its proximity to the airport

Would I recommend this hotel - absolutely.

“Comfortable helpful hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 January 2012

We stayed here twice, each time for 3 nights, in December 2011. We liked this hotel, particularly because all the staff were very helpful and efficient (and happy to switch between multiple languages!).
The hotel is quite new and the rooms are spacious, clean and well equipped, with large comfortable beds. The air con is controllable and works well, or there is the option of opening large windows if you prefer. The wifi was free, quite quick, and easy to connect to. The buffet breakfast is comprehensive with a large continental breakfast selection, and fruit, as well as some hot food. We also tried the hotel restaurant and found its food and service to be pretty decent.
The location is convenient for the port/docks and the main bus and train station. The downside is that it is not right at the heart of the city centre but it only takes about 10-15 minutes to walk to city centre attractions.
The main negative score for this hotel was its fitness/pool/ spa area. The gym area is very small, in the lobby to the pool/spa area, consisting of about 5 machines. The steam room was never hotter than warm, and the pool area looked tired (discoloured tiles and the wooden decking was needed renovation and repair). Having said that, the sauna, showers and changing areas were fine.

Room Tip: Ask for a sea (dock) view, and a high floor.

Dear Sir,
Thanks for the review of our hotel.
We want to return again for the third time to continue enjoying their company and be able to attend as long as our guests.
As to what we said in reference to the spa, it is only a relaxation area and fitness, not a gym and exclusive use and free for our customers. This is another service provided by our hotel.
Waiting to see you soon and again in Malaga or cualqueira of our properties in Cadiz, Huelva and Seville, Yours faithfully,

Miguel Andreu

“Great location, great staff, great stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 December 2011

We stayed three nights at the Monte Malaga, in a very comfortable triple room. The room and bathroom were spotless, there was a free safe in the room, and free wifi. The large windows opened over a sea view, which despite the proximity to the road and port, was not too noisy. It takes about 15 minutes to walk into the centre of Malaga.

Staff at the hotel are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was copious, with gluten free and diabetic diets catered for, as well as a huge range of hot and cold items.

There's a nice little swimming pool, sauna, steam room and a couple of exercise bikes. Bring your own towel or get one from reception with a 10 euro deposit.

Hotel Monte makes an effort to reduce energy usage with motion activated lighting and solar panels. We were really impressed and would definitely come back.

Room Tip: Ask for a high floor overlooking the sea. You get a view of the mountains too!

“an oasis of calm and comfort”

We spent one night at the Monte Malaga at the end of our cruise.
It was easy to get to from the docks and was everything we had hoped for with our booking.
The room was large and had spectacular views over the docks and we were able to see our ship depart.
Breakfast was fantastic with freshly cooked omelets, Spanish food, low calorie choices and anything else you could want The chef even came round to ask if all was ok
Staff very friendly, weather for December in Malaga 18 deg C Wonderful time Highly recommended Go to the old town for your meals as by the train station food is poor and expensive. The hotel will look after your bags after you have checked out. The staff really treat you well

Room Tip: ask for a high up room for port view but if you want to open the windows this can be very noisy Air...
