We found Hostal La Luna via Lonely Planet, on our driving holiday in Andalusia last summer. It's a lovely simple place, with basic but clean rooms overlooking a small courtyard, about 5 mins walk from the beach and Marbella's old town. The owners don't speak English, but are really helpful and keen to point out local restaurants, supermarkets, etc and are really friendly.
