We chose this hotel because it was by the beach and friends had already booked somewhere nearby, it is probably a 15-20min walk to the centre of town. There are buses which go into town and a stop just by the hotel, so it's still easy to get in, however it is a really nice and picturesque walk so we mostly just walked.

There are a number of restaurants and cafes up this end of town, both on the same street as the hotel and also beach shack restaurants down by the beach (these vary considerably in quality - there is one really low quality one, but it is hard to tell because they all look the same - so be guided by which ones are crowded and perhaps avoid the emptier ones!)

The hotel itself is fine, my one compliant would be that we had booked a balcony room on the booking sheet, and instead got a room around the back on the ground floor. But we couldn't be bothered arguing it as the guy on front desk seemed a bit surly! Also the room was quite dark and the lights, like many hotel lights, sort of dim mood lighting. Otherwise, it was a clean room, good shower, comfy bed. They had metal shutter blinds you can put down over the window - so you sleep really well! (easy to oversleep!)

Overall, I certainty wouldn't put anyone off staying here, it is a nice hotel, and if you want to be in that area of town it is a good choice, however I think it was overpriced compared to other hotels we stayed in on our holiday around Spain.

There is a really nice feel to this hotel. It is quaint, somewhat dated, and yet... It has a charm, it absolutely spotless, and the staff are most helpful. The beach is a stones throw away, and we could see it from our balcony. In April, the surrounding area was v. quiet. I hope to return in September.

We decided to grab a 2 night/3 day autumn break and stayed in this comparitively reasonably priced hotel on the edge of Malaga town. The staff were efficient and the place was spotlessly clean.

The room was clean, decorated in a traditional if rather old fashioned, masculine style (dark wood etc). It had a good sized bathroom, plenty of hot water, a fridge and a nice little balcony with a table and chairs overlooking the street. The balcony is a suntrap, also nice in the cooler October months.The room also had air con which would be handy in the summer. Also provided, a hairdrier and a few toiletries. There is underground parking if you have a car which is always good in a city like Malaga. There is also a lift and easy access with electronic door at front of hotel.

Reception were efficient and quick. Check-in/out were an easy affair, the lady receptionist was rather more helpful re any questions we had. There is free wi fi and pay as you go internet in the lobby. Not much in the way of facilities, but they own a restaurant over the road.with a reasonable menu del dia. The breakfast room was in the basement and rather small and dark, we didn't venture there.

One gripe - they offered a reasonably priced ironing and laundry service but this is not available at the weekends and they couldn't provide an iron so the other half went out on his birthday a little creased ;-).With the current weight restrictions and excess baggage costs on airlines, this was a bit of a nuisance.

The hotel says it offers room service, but when we requested that, it was unnavailable and their are no coffee and tea making options.

All in all, a simple, perfectly functional clean accommodation, but somewhat plain and lacking in charm.

There is a bus stop outside the door which takes you into the center in a few minutes and buses are very regular, we never had to wait longer than 5 mins. A cab is around 4 euros and a walk into town about 20- 25 mins. 2 or 3 mins to Malagueta beach (cold stream, rather an industrial view of port). Supermarket up the road , turn right out of hotel, 5 mins walk on opposite side, easy to miss entracne).

I would recommend this hotel for a short break, if you dont want to splash out, but can't say I would return. The nearby Hotel California looked a rather more fun option and a little closer to town, but we had no real complaints bar the lack of iron and coffee/tea.

The hotel seemed to be rather fond of their orange towels (told in no uncertain terms in the room, if you desired one you must pay!)

This hotel was chosen for us by locals who had checked a few others on the same strip and decided that this was the best overall. We arrived and were very pleased. The staff are friendly, the room is clean and because we are on the 5th floor facing the sea the view is beautiful especially from our wee balcony. The bathroom was clean with marble throughout. Wifi is open access and free and there is air conditioning in the room that the guest can control. The breakfast leaves a little to be desired.....after consuming four different forms of white bread (croissant, muffin, apple danish and lemon muffin) that mono/bikini might leave the wearer sporting a muffin (top) of their own...... The coffee was good tough. It seems that they might serve the breakfast in the room but this was not advertised and we did not ask so we ate in the basement, a bit of a shame because the view was so nice. The towels are cute and are for sale should the guest want a nice souvenir. This is a hotel that you will not spend a lot of time in since the beach is right there and the city has a lot to offer. It does not offer that wow factor but it does not need to. The price is good, I think we paid 70 euros/night and wifi is good and free.
