We booked this Hotel, after researching the area, for a Christmas break.I'm afraid it is NOT a 5 star Hotel, it is next to a busy dual carriage way with no sight of beach or sea - a car is an essential.On arrival we were asked on check in to sign a disclaimer for any theft of items from our room?! -We asked if there was a security issue & they said no....However it caused us some concern. We had requested a quiet room, with a sea view...the first room we were offered was 235, which had a view of the dual carriage way to the left & the pool to the right....We asked to be moved from our 1st room as it was VERY poor quality, mould on bathroom tiles, stains & dirt on carpet, furniture chipped.. very disappointing, we were moved to a slightly better room, but it was not a 5 star bedroom- The rooms were very shabby, dirty, stains on carpets, loose sockets on wall & lacking in 5 star comfort -ie no slippers -cotton buds- no turn back service etc. Public areas needed attention, chipped walls etc .One restaurant was closed. Our car had its dust caps stolen outside of reception!
We are highly disappointed & feel that this Hotel has been MISS Sold as a 5 star property...The staff were excellent & provided a pleasant service...

Stayed here in September, during a week long sunshine break in Malaga, booked this place as a night away from our trip to mainstream Malaga, and we where not dissapointed! Initial impression was, what? Location wise its beside a busy motorway / road, but clever design meant that all the rooms are positioned to appreciatte the fabulous pool view! We where only here for one night but, it was perfect, great room, well thoughtout, amazing bed!!! Lovely pool, great bar, with even better cocktails, fantastic staff! We had an awesome meal in the Asian Fusion restrauant, and really relaxed, which was our main reason for the stay! Only downside was the fact that we had to pay for Ice in our room, and I personally found the charge for Wi Fi to be a bit much in a 5 star hotel, but hey thats Crowne Plaza for you! would return but not for more than a couple of nights, unless you have a hire car and don't mind not enjojing a drink when you leave the resort, you will need to pay for taxis to get to local spots! On the whole very impressed!

We stayed in this hotel in early November whilst celebrating our 25th Wedding Anniversary.
As a Platinum Priority Club Member we booked this room on a 'Points Break' offer of 5000 points a night which meant we stayed for a full week for 35000 points...bargain
Greeted at the Hotel by very friendly and helpful staff who kindly took our luggage to our room on the 2nd floor.

Pros:
Room was excellent, reasonably spacious, coffee & tea facilities, small fridge, clean, nice decour with a good size balcony with 4 chairs, table and sun lounger which overlooked the pool.
When we returned from a local bar on our 1st evening we had been left a bottle of wine and some fresh fruit..."Nice Touch" and greatly appreciated.
Another nice touch was the 'Turndown' service every evening
The hotel bar was modern and spacious and one evening we ate in the Shangai Express restaraunt were the food was very tasty though a tad expensive.
A few bars are located nearby serving Italian, English and chinese, our favourite bar/restaurant was The Oak where the manager Tony was a good cook and host.
If you have a car the other resorts are within easy driving distance, we went to Gibraltar in less than 40mins

Cons:
You really do need a car if you stay here as the nearest beach is a good 5/10min walk and isn't the cleanest.
Hotel is located adjacent to the main A7 which is fine but if you want to visit the bars & restaurants on the other side of the road you have a good walk to reach a pedestrian bridge or need to drive to get there.

Summary
Great hotel would like to visit again especially if you have some Priority points spare but don't forget the car !!

Booked last minute for a short break. Was excellent hotel. Very friendly staff. Great facilities (outdoor pool, indoor spa with pool) All rooms face the sun, all have nice balconies - would recommend anyone looking for a short break.
