“golf holiday at Atalaya Park”

Went here October 2011 for 10 days with First Choice.
Hotel is a little bit dated and could do with a little tlc.The beds were very hard, just like sleeping on the floor. We were in block 2 which is a route march from all the hotels facilities but nice and quiet at night.
The food was a little dissapointing,if you dont like the salad bar then the choice was limited and repetitive.
The hotel is not near any bars or restaurants so go all inclusive as a pint of beer at the hotel is 4.5 euros.
This hotel is great if you want to play golf as there is a free shuttle to the course, and a round if you are staying at the hotel is just 35 euros.
Would not recomend this hotel for a family holiday as the beach is not very good and there is not much to do.
Good if you want to play golf.

The hotel is excellent, close ot the stony beach. The rooms are clean and well maintained.
the food is very varied and of a high standard. Staff are polite and ready to assist with any problems. It is fairly isolated and you need a car to get around. I had a problem with the currency exchange, they thought the dollars were pounds realised, their mistake and I had to pay back 75 euros at the end of my stay - it was a genuine mistake and i should have checked.

Room Tip: Chose the four levels rather than the seven levels if you have problems walking, that block is close...

We got back form this Hotel this morning, and wished we were still there. We have traveled widely and are not usually keen on all inclusive, but this hotel tries its very best (the fresh king prawns were amazingly good) and does a good job.

All the sangria / wine (offered bottles with your meals) you could manage, whats not to love.

The pool areas were lovely, clean and large and because the round pool was deep you did not have to fight off the kids.

Hotel staff were very pleasant and eager to help. Our room was large and had an amazing view of the sea and mountains. The rooms were also very very quiet.

The bad points - we went with Thompsons and they did not have a rep at our hotel and did not inform us of this until we were on the coach on the way there. No big deal I hear you say - well it wouldn't have been if they had replied to our emails (they advertise 1 hr response time, try 56 hours) and not been down right rude when we had to finally make an international call to the UK for help.

Room Tip: we stayed in 1429 brilliant views

Just like to say that my family and I stayed at this hotel in August 2011, and after fears reading other reviews of this Hotel, found to my delight that the Hotel was nothing like they said. The Rooms were clean and comfortable, as was the rest of the Hotel, the food was first rate, as were the swimming pools and gardens, all this and set in the most beautiful of settings. I would also like to point out that we went all inclusive and never had any trouble getting drinks or anything else. all of the staff were friendly and very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. we would definately go back again

“Have been there 8 times and going again next year”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 September 2011

We are a family of four - two adults and two boys (ages 4 and 7). We have been going to the Atalaya Park for 8 years now, and go back every year. In summary, very good food, very friendly staff, good animation team. Note, there is only one or two animation people animation people until June, so there is minimal entertainment for kids in the evening before June. Kids entertainment is usually a kids disco at 9.30 pm, and then most nights some kind of show or golf night or live music etc. To be honest, especially if you go at school holidays, there are always enough kids around so they make their own entertainment and all play together. The pool is huge and never busy, and they do have a kids club. Beach is not great, but the hotel grounds are so large that most people stay in the grounds which are lovely and well kept and there is also a lovely indoor heated swimming pool. The crazy golf in the grounds which is free is also a bonus and the gym is also very good. Food is varied enough to satisfy the most fussy of eaters. Breakfast is very varied and caters well for a mixture of nationalities including cooked breakfasts, cereals, continental, cold meats etc. Lunch - hot pasta or meat dishes and veg (including chips and spagetti for the kids or fussier eater), or very wide selection of salad dishes including cheeses and biscuits, various desserts, as well as ice cream for the kids. We do all inclusive, so you don't have to worry about cost of drinks etc. Evening selection is also very good including pasta, various meat dishes, salads, fish dishes etc. and loads of cold desserts and choices of ice cream of course! Staff are always very helpful, and the rooms we have stayed in are of good quality. As occupancy has been down in the last 3 or so years, prices are down so you can get some really good deals. Only negative, is number of entertainment staff which is down from previously 11, to about 3! This limits what they can do in the evening which is a real shame. This number may increase in the summer, but as we only go end of May to early June, we don't see it later onl
