“good central location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 August 2011

nice traditional spanish hotel ,we visited chiclana to attend summer feria and were able to walk also opposite old town for shopping.hotel itself is nice quiet with large clean rooms ,average bathrooms,we were dissapointed that there was no bar however drinks were served at certain times from the cafeteria and there is a nice central terrace to sit,we returned late approx 12 midnight and were unable to get a coffee or a drink,as bar service stops at 11pm.we booked B&B it was very basic coffee ,juice and toast with jam.no other options at all.would possibly stay again for location but would book room only as there are numerous cafe,s in the old town serving good value breakfast with traditional tomatoe, pate, sobresada etc,the spanish doll factory is worth a visit as is the small bodega in the town and lots of great shoe shops for the girls!

Room Tip: ask for one at the front view of river is great.

“Very Spainish”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 August 2010

Having read a Tripadvisor report before we went we were very glad of the information regarding pre-booking a parking space if you are hiring a car. Parking around the hotel is very limited to the point of being non existent, and if, like us, you arrive late at night you do not have the time to get your bearings on the public car parks. We emailed the hotel to request a space but were informed there were non available, however when we checked in we were informed that we had a reserved space! It cost 7 Euros per day and was well worth it. The car park is very tight and narrow so care has to be taken when parking to avoid the pillars!

The hotel staff were all very pleasant and those that could speak English were very helpful and kind, drawing maps and booking Flamenco dancing!

The hotel itself was very Spanish. In our bedroom all the paintwork and furnishings were in a bright terracotta! The room itself was kept very clean as was the bathroom. There was not much drawer space to put clothes away if you are staying for more than a couple of days. The beds were very firm, so much so that my hip ached! The air conditioning worked very well once we got the hang of it!

There is a main line bus depot outside the hotel were you can catch buses to Cadiz, Seville and the local beaches. Our room was on the ground floor at the back of a little terrace, it was lovely and quiet. We suspect the rooms at the front could be a bit noisy as the bus depot was in use until from early am to late at night.

We did not use the restaurant so we are unable to comment on the quality of the food. We did go for coffee most mornings in the area just across the bridge from the hotel and were given lots of help by the waitressing staff ordering coffee and buns by using had gestures and smiles! The majority of Spanish people we encountered could not speak any English, which was very refreshing, but were only to willing to help us with our very limited Spanish!

Overall we had a very enjoyable stay and would recommend this hotel for it’s pleasant and helpful staff and cleanliness.

“A nice hotel near Cadiz”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 July 2008

We stayed two nights at the hotel. The hotel is in a city that has little to offer, but it's near Cadiz and some wonderful beaches.

The hotel had friendly staff and the rooms were clean. Breakfast was very simpel, just continental breakfast with toast/croissant, butter, marmelade, juice and tea/coffee.

You need to reserve a parking place at the hotel, because it was impossible to get a parking place for your car near the hotel.

  • Liked — Reasonable price
  • Disliked — The parking was difficult to get to.
