Beautiful hotel in a mainly Spanish resort. Visited August 2003 via Thomas Cook.
Food, room, pool all excellent, one night a week excellent array of seafood on the buffet - one of the highlights.
There is a bus takes you round the resort and into Chiclana - from which you can get a bus to Jerez and Cadiz.
Also excellent for trips to Cadiz and Jerez. Get a detailed guidebook because its worth seeking out the best sights, restaurants and tapas bars.
Seville is worth a trip but the day trip isn't worthwhile - we booked car hire and 2 nights in a hotel online to make the most of it.
The other great thing is that you fly into Jerez which is very quiet - some cheap flight operators fly into Jerez, so it might be worth considering flight plus your own car hired from the airport.
There are several hotels along the beach, all 4 star at least, all with entertainment.
The shopping complex along the beach serves the villas behind the beach front. It is lively at night with families shopping and eating.
This hotel is one of four placed together and having visited all four, would say is best position and value - one isn't on the beach, one is very quiet - the palace hotel is better for couples, this one is the one for families.
We have friends who have stayed at Riu Chiclana and enjoyed that hotel too.
I'd love to go back for a short break but am having problems finding a british travel agent/brochure that includes it.
