“Fantastic hotel”

Beautiful hotel in a mainly Spanish resort. Visited August 2003 via Thomas Cook.

Food, room, pool all excellent, one night a week excellent array of seafood on the buffet - one of the highlights.
There is a bus takes you round the resort and into Chiclana - from which you can get a bus to Jerez and Cadiz.
Also excellent for trips to Cadiz and Jerez. Get a detailed guidebook because its worth seeking out the best sights, restaurants and tapas bars.

Seville is worth a trip but the day trip isn't worthwhile - we booked car hire and 2 nights in a hotel online to make the most of it.

The other great thing is that you fly into Jerez which is very quiet - some cheap flight operators fly into Jerez, so it might be worth considering flight plus your own car hired from the airport.

There are several hotels along the beach, all 4 star at least, all with entertainment.

The shopping complex along the beach serves the villas behind the beach front. It is lively at night with families shopping and eating.

This hotel is one of four placed together and having visited all four, would say is best position and value - one isn't on the beach, one is very quiet - the palace hotel is better for couples, this one is the one for families.

We have friends who have stayed at Riu Chiclana and enjoyed that hotel too.

I'd love to go back for a short break but am having problems finding a british travel agent/brochure that includes it.

  • Liked — Great location and excellent hotel in every respect
  • Disliked — Can't find it in any brochures any more!
  • Tips/Secrets — If you are prepared to try visiting local sights by yourself, get here, don't come if you want a hotel full of English. There'll be some, but not many.

“Beautiful!!!”

The reception area sets the scene for the hotel; modern, clean and airy.
The bedroom was big with lots of storage space, a massive bed, lots of seating and a balcony. We had a view of the sea and sunset. Wonderful!!

Breakfast and dinner were very exciting! Lots of choice, and everything cooked to an excellent standard. For breakfast there were choices of branded cereals, cooked items, pastries, meats, breads, yoghurts, every type of tea (including English tea). And that’s not the exhausted list! Although it is set out like a buffet this does not affect the quality of the food.

The only note of caution is that if you want a wild holiday, with lots of nightclubs, then this is not the place for you. This place is for those wanting to slow down their pace, relax and enjoy the views.

If you're staying for two weeks consider getting a car because the local roads are not too busy and there are lots of places you could explore within 1 ½ drive.

In conclusion, if you are looking for an excellent quality hotel and want to relax and explore at your leisure then this is the place for you.

  • Liked — Overall quality
  • Disliked — Balcony light turned off at 11pm every night.
  • Tips/Secrets — Put your towels down early!

“Barossa Park excellence in itself”

We had a fantastic stay at Hotel Barossa Park Sancti Pectri, Chiclana De La Frontera.

The hotel offered a wonderful service second to none and was amazing value for money. The food was exquisite with a huge choice every evening and breakfast time and always perfectly cooked and displayed. I found it hard to sleep - not because of noisy neighbours - but because of the excitement and anticipation of another great breakfast! We are very discerning about food but we could not fault this hotel on a single thing.

The location is wonderful - right on beautiful Barossa Beach - which in May was wonderully quiet and peaceful. We watched beautiful sunsets on most evenigs.

True the weather is a little precarious; namely the fierce wind that can blow. But even this only enhanced our stay as it reduced sometimes vicious temperature and made it more bearable.

For cooler days we used the beautiful indoor pool which was well tended and not too busy. The hotel clientele was largely German hence the overall wonderful standards.

If you like an international climate, authentic Spanish cuisine, friendly local people then this will suit. If you want chips, burger and nuggets then go to the Costa Del Sol. You will hate this area!

“Great Golf Holiday!!”

I organised a golfing holiday for 5 couples at this wonderful hotel. Best hotel we'd stayed at in Spain. Spotlessly clean, friendly, efficient staff in all areas. Nice rooms and beautiful location right on the sandy beach and minutes from a couple of good golf courses. Food was buffet at breakfast and dinner, took a bit of getting used to layout of dining area but none the less was very good. Nothing too much trouble for staff at this hotel. Go visit, but make sure you find the correct driving instructions! Should add that the guests were predominantly German, with a few English and Irish.

“GREAT 4* HOTEL”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 October 2005

We stayed at Hotel Barrosa Park 13/10/05 to 16/10/05 with my husband and 2yr old daughter.
What a great long weekend - well needed. The weather was great, sunshine and a light breeze - we spent the whole time on the glorious beach and swam/surfed the waves everyday (even my husband who has never set a toe in the sea in his life!!)
The hotel was spotless, the staff were so friendly, always greeted with a smile and hello.
The food was okay, I'm not a great fan of buffet's so not the best judge but they had something for everyone. The afternoon cakes were to die for, you could definitely gain a few pounds here!!
Always able to get a table and high chair in the resturant.
Overall a great long weekend away - will return as soon as we have the time!!
Adios
