I stayed here for 3 nights mid July & I have to say that it is not as bad as the older reviews. Perhaps Barcelo has listened & improved it's act. I was on the 6th fllor and had a room at the back of the hotel 612. Room was new & modern. Beds were comfortable & the air con was working, in fact the receptionist advised us to leave it on all the time, the cleaners did not even switch it off so it was always cool. The blinds were ok but not really blackout but did the job. Noise was not a problem however there is background music always on in the general areas at a low volume. Bathroom was clean & modern - no tub just a funky shower. The location is excellent, the downtown bus is just across the road by the bank & Cadiz itself is wonderful too. Have your breakfast at the cafe a few doors to the right of the hotel, still 3.50 euro as per the previous review. At night go eat at Balandro in the old town overlooking the sea.

We stayed in several Barcelo hotels and we thought they were a secure value, untill we stayed in Barceló Cadiz! It´s a new hotel, with modern design, confortable rooms but very dirty, bad smell on the room and the hallways... it seems that the hotel as no maintenance, very degrated althoug is a new hotel!!!
The same goes for breakfast lounge: very dirty, careless buffet.
Not a good example of Barcelo hotels....

I would highly recommend this centrally located hotel in Cadiz. The rooms are clean with a modern design.
The hotel is located at the main avenue town. Up the street from the hotel (to downtown) is also a fantasic restaurant called el faro I would highly recommend for snacks, lunch or even a dinner.
The hotel is centrally located near the beach with easy access to downtown. I would highly recommend staying here and plan to stay here again when visiting Cadiz.

We stayed here for 2 nights with friends in adjoining rooms, 609 and 610. The rooms were nicely designed but shabby. Our room had scuff marks all over the walls, large patches of mould on the bedroom wall and in the bathroom, mould around the shower. In winter there is no controlable air conditioning. The room thermostats were set by the hotel at 24.5 degrees- too hot to sleep at night. We had to ask for our window to be unlocked so we could get some fresh air and then had to suffer the noise from the busy road outside. The restaurant and bar were closed too and we had not been told this when booking. We wrote a letter of complaint but heard nothing so their customer service is poor too!
