Just back from a golfing trip to Alcaidesa where we stayed at the small Quercus hotel. very impressed. The rooms were spacious, modern (except for the TV!) and had big balconies while the small group of staff were friendly ad hospitable. The owner even volunteered to give us a lift to the golf course on two days when we were stranded! The restaurant (not open Sunday) was pretty good although the choice is small, but it is a small boutique hotel after all. The location is very quiet, beds comfy, decent size bathroom with power shower and bath plus safe.
In terms of location it's ok - but you need a car to get to the 2 golf courses since they moved the clubhouse from just over the road from the hotel to 2km away! There is a small restaurant/bar about 100m from the hotel and a pharmacy too, but that's about it for Alcaidesa. The long sandy beach is about a 5 minute walk. We cabbed it from Gib airport for €20 but next time would take a hire car for freedom of movement.
Quality little hotel though and great value.
