I am currently unfortunate and stupid enough to be tied into an 11 month rental agreement for an apartment an "Royal Golf", Sotogrande. I actually feel sorry for my Landlord for having bought one of these apartments, which were converted to such when this Hotel ran into financial difficulties. Despite the fact that all apartment owners pay "community fees" the complex is in an awful state of repair. In a civilised country it would be shut down for Health and Safety reasons, due to the poor maintenence of communal areas and unsafe plumbing, electrics.
The hotel has been promising to fix the boiler for the past two months, and the hot water service varies from tepid to cold and the colour of rusty brown to almost clear.
The hotel "reception" is open from 8-12 in the morning, as a few poor unfortunate souls still pay to stay here on a nightly basis. There is no bar, no restaurant, the air conditioning and heating system does not work.
Every morning I go down to my car to travel to work, I see mothers with small children screaming at reception, because there is no water, dirty water, or their child has split its head open on broken fittings.
In short, the quicker this place is demolished the better, don't be fooled by the Sotogrande address and don't stay here. You would be better off paying 30 Euros for a seedy Hotel in La Linea.
