“PAPER THIN WALLS!!!!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 January 2012

Paper thin walls. OMG how does anyone sleep?

Apart from the screaming baby UPSTAIRS, the shouting families in the rooms either side of us, and the screeching hair dryers EARLY every morning, this is a nice hotel.

All that aside, it is one small block from the beach. A 2.5 km walk to the old town. A 4.8km walk to the furtherest end of the walkway southward.

The cafeteria makes fantastic coffee and there is a take away pizza shop almost next door if you couldn't be bothered walking far.

Along the beach, behind the hotel, is a few cafés and bars, further south, about 2km, is a loooong strip of eateries.

It's such a shame the hotel is DEFINATELY not soundproof, and the guests don't have any consideration for other guests.

“Not 4* but nevertheless good”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 December 2011

We stayed here in April (checked in on Royal Wedding day) for 3 nights and wanted somewhere a reasonable walking distance from the old town and with easy parking (we'd hired a car) and a good selection of rooms. Based on other reviews on here we booked this hotel and we weren't disappointed. If you're looking for 4/5* comfort in a hotel that feels like a large US chain, then don't come here. This one has a bit more of a Spanish flavour to it, although all the staff we encountered spoke perfectly good English and were friendly and helpful. The corridoors were a little dark and the rooms featured lots of dark wood. Our room was huge and had plenty of storage space in it. The location was good and it took us around 15 minutes to walk to the heart of the old town. The hotel also stored our hire car free of charge whilst we stayed there. Fully recommended.

“OK but doesn't merit four stars”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 December 2011

We choose this hotel because of its excellent location, two minutes from the beach and five minutes from the old town, with a bus stop right outside (the No.1 shuttles back and forth to the old town for a flat rate fee of €1),

The underground carpark is alongside in Calle Rochester. The entrance is permanently locked and we had to leave the car in the taxi rank in front of the hotel while a member of staff parked it for us. I wish we had known this beforehand ...

The room was large, comfortable and clean (apart from the grimy net curtains) but we had problems turning the heating down and it was very stuffy. As other reviewers have said, this hotel is perfectly adequate but had very few facilities to warrant four stars.

“Large room, good location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 November 2011

The hotel is currently under renovation so there was a lot of hammering when we arrived but this stopped by nine. The room was large, clean and reasonably sound proof. It was good to be able to walk to the beach as well as the old town. Parking was secure but at an additional cost. We can't comment on breakfast as we chose to eat elsewhere but we had coffee in the restaurant which was very nice.

“A modern hotel in a perfect position”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 November 2011

person found this review helpful

After reading reviews on this hotel we picked it for its position. Not only by the beach but only a 5 or 10 minute walk to the old city, with all its bars and restaurants. We were pleased to have picked accommodation outside the city so we could walk off our excesses before retiring for the night.
The room was large, recently refurbished and spotlessly clean whilst the staff at the front desk were friendly and very helpful.
We would definitely stay here again!
