“Good location, comfortable place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 November 2011

We stayed here for 2 nights and it struck all the right notes - free WiFi, clean linen, safe in the closet and walkable to the Mezquita. There was a cute center courtyard with a guitar lying by. The nights were safe to walk around in and there was always someone to buzz us in. The staff spoke enough English to get us by and we had no trouble locating the hotel once we left it. The plaza San Miguel has the church and a very old bar - El Pisto. Both are stone's throws from the hotel and worth a visit. There were taxis very close by, although the taxi driver had difficulty finding the hotel the first time we came to the hotel.

“Wonderful hotel in the perfect location”

We stayed here for 2 nights in mid November. We loved it! Its what I expected a small hotel in spain to be like. The decor was beautiful, it was spotlessly clean, and the rooms were a good size. The bathroom was quite large too. We had a room that faced the courtyard and there was almost no noise.

The location was great. Walking distance to the Mesquita and restaurants and shopping. The internet worked fine. Front desk staff spoke little english but my little spanish was enough to communicate.

I wished we had spent another night here I liked it so much.

“Great Hotel in Great Town”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 November 2011

First off, make sure you stay two nights in this delightful city. The San Miguel is a wonderful hotel with a wonderful staff. We stayed in a balcony room, quite a bit larger than the courtyard rooms and noise was not a problem. Both nights we shared wine, Iberia ham and cheese with friends and other guests utilizing the courtyard, it was perfect. As I mentioned, the town is so cool, I'm sure you'll be disappointed if you only stay one night. You will be easy walking distance to all attractions and city squares. The staff could not have been more helpful offering directions and recommendations on where to eat. Our bathroom and sleeping area was spotless.

“Good location between old and new city”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 November 2011

This is what you expect to get in two stars hotel at best - clean rooms, basic services, friendly and helpful staff. San Miguel fulfills your expectations. The garage (extra charge) and wifi internet (free) are on the positive side. The staff wants to serve you very well and some of them can also enough English to do that.

The location between old and new city is perfect. The breakfast can be easily found in the neighbourhood.

This hotel can be recommended for a few nights stay when you don't need five or four stars atmosphre.

“Wonderful hotel in a great location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 November 2011

Like most travelers, we stayed here two nights before our next stop, Granada. The location was perfect; close to everything. The hotel was attractive, clean and neat as a pin. The central courtyard was very charming but is basically not used. The clerk was very helpful and spoke some English. There is a desktop PC to use for a fee in the lobby, plus there are some vending machines and a small sitting area. The hotel is next to a church, so expect a lot of bell ringing during the day. Our room was at the back on the first floor. It was very clean, with 2 twin beds, a chair, desk, and a large wardrobe with a safe. The bathroom was big, with a hair dryer, bidet, and lots of counter space. The beds were comfortable, with pressed and embroidered sheets and pillowcases, which really impressed me. The only flaw of our stay was that you have to leave you key at the desk, and one time we got back and had to wait 15 minutes for someone to return to the desk. That said, we loved our stay and would definitely stay there again!

Room Tip: The rooms that open to the courtyard will be somewhat more noisy that the few that don't.
