“Wonderful stay!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 September 2011

À great place! Manuel manages perfectly this little paradise. We stayed 2nights, we got an upgrade to the lovely suite, à very quiet large authentic room with huge bathroom on the back of the house, well cleaned, great breakfast and in à very good location, in 7 minutes to the mezquita. Quiet and not to touristic area. What a great value for money and a true delight to stay. And such à friendly staff!

Room Tip: Every room is large and authentic, take maybe à room on the back

“Owner not sympathetic”

We enjoyed this hotel overall. However, the second night we were there, the owners returned from the restaurant they own at about 1 am and were talking loudly with at least one other person. The window to our room opened up to the central courtyard so we were wakened by the noise. They proceeded noisly up the stairs to their quarters which were above our room and continued talking and moving about for some time. I said something the next morning to the assistant, and I am sure that she must have reported this to the owner. However, although he was pleasant, he did not apologize. I think that he must not be very sympathetic to the needs of his guests. The rooms in the back of the hotel which look over the restaurant have to be very noisy every evening since most of the tables are on the open patio.

“Charming small hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 June 2011

If you like Andalusian colors, flowers and tiles, you will love this small hotel. The proprietor is helpful and knowledgeable. He was also the cook the night we ate at the hotel and the food was delicious. Good location for sightseeing and a charming respite to return to when you are ready for a siesta.

“Character but no frills and it could be so much better.”

Stayed 2 nights during Easter week in a superior room. The location is fine. Room was a good size and the bathroom was big and well appointed. However the bedroom was rather bare and could have easily been made to feel more comfortable. Breakfast was a bit basic and the room felt rather like a hostel. Courtyard is nice as is the library / internet room. Staff very friendly.
Taberna Rafalete which is very close is a good value and smart local restaurant / bar.

“What a find!”

This beautiful place is matched by its super staff. One day, Manule- the owner and chef, did a cooking class for us- we learned a lot and ate great food. The next day we did an excursion south, visitng a wonderful olive oil facility that has been producing olive oil for over 200 years. We also went to a cheese tasting and stopped in some wonderful picturesque towns. Our room was very, very spacious with a great bathroom. I would recommend this place to everyone.
