Inexpensive and no-frills, but very comfy, this is the perfect little hotel to book a quite room if you make a day-trip to Córdoba from Madrid or Seville. It is quite difficult to find, but easy enough to get to from the train station. Just go straight down the Avenida de América from the train station’s main entrance. Turn right on Avenida del Gran Capitan. Just a block or so down, you’ll come across Alhakén II. Immediately then to your right again is a small, dead-end street which ends with the hotel. This hotel is located right next to a very nice and inexpensive bodega restauramnt which, one elderly Spanish gentleman informed us has the best jamón Ibérico in all of Spain! The staff at the front desk was very friendly and helpful.
One thing – we’re not sure if the room had air-conditioning. We couldn’t locate any discernable climate control switch on the walls. In any case, we slept with the window open and, this time of year, it was quite comfortable.
