The Hotel was clean, relatively inexpensive, wonderful staf and had a great location.
I understand that each room is different so if you get a different room, you may have a different experience. Upon entering the Azacar room, my wife and I detected a terrible odor. After some searching, we found a box in the wardrobe of what we think was moth balls and some sort of herb potpouri, that almost made us sick. I think the room had not been used for sometime and the smell was almost overpowering, made worse because there were no outside windows. We did have a window which opened to the entryway and above the kitchen, so while we tried to air out the room, we heard each and every phone call or visitor greeting from the exceptionally friendly receptionist. After putting a plastic bag over the moth ball box, and several hours of open window and air fan running, the room was tolerable.
The room was well worn, furnished with older, cheap furniture, and dimly lit. The bathtub worked, but had several chips out of the porcellan. Hotel Lola reminded me of staying in a B&B. The bed was comfortable however. Somehow when I pay as much as I did there for a room, I expected pleasant or no smells and higher quality furnishing.
Breakfast was simple and good, although did not start until 8:30 am. The coffee was freshly brewed and tasted great.
Overall, not a bad experience, given the convienent location in the old town. But I'd chose another hotel if I go back to Cordoba.
