We stayed here overnight while on holiday in Andalusia. It's smack bang in the centre of the old town in the Juderia and less than 5 minutes from the spectacular Mezquita. This is a classic old building in tiny narrow streets. If you want a quiet retreat for a peaceful night's sleep with parking, don't come here. If you want a cute, characterful and historic crash pad that let's you explore Cordoba's charms, this is perfect.
We parked in an underground car park 10-15 minutes walk away and carried our overnight bags through a maze of charming streets, dumped our bags in our room 'Lola' with its own terrace that has a peak of the tower of the cathedral. We then headed out to look around the Moorish mosque (Mezquita) with the crazy alien Cathedral space-ship in the middle of it (you'll know what I mean if you've seen it). Then back to the hotel for a shower in the well-supplied bathroom then out for a fantastic tapas bar crawl. Lonely Planet has a great guide to the best places to go.
Do try the jerez, local version of gazpacho with bacon & eggs on top & the stewed ox tail tapas. And Bar Santos by the Mezquita tortilla has to be seen (and eaten) to be believed.
Don't come here if you want to wear high heels, park by the hotel and use a wheelie case.
Perfect overnight stay with lovely staff, cute room, great terrace and unbeatable (if a little noisy at night) location. The ground floor rooms are particularly close to the pavement. Bring ear plugs.
Room Tip: We think Lola is the best, although the 1st floor rooms overlooking the street are apparently very n...
