“Very very bad, dont be fooled by the 4 poster beds - not worth it”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2010

We booked the hotel with our friends. It was very hard to find because the city is all one-way and the map on the hotels web site was not clear.
When we arrived we were shown to a room in the second building on the third floor, the room was big enough only for the wooden bed and the bathroom had only 2 sq.meters. It had a window which looked on to a hole where the heating boiler was and when you opened it it hit the table and chair. We tried to sleep on the wooden bed and couldn't as it creaked every time you moved. The room was incredibly hot and there was a small tv on the ceiling which to watch you had to put your head out of the bed. The bathroom door was so thin and every time you wanted to go to the toilet, it scraped along the floor and made a huge noise.
I normally can stay in pretty basic places but this was so claustrophobic, the next morning we packed our bags at 8am and checked out (we moved to a much nicer basic Hotel Marisa by the Mezquita). Our friends couldn't sleep either but when they asked to check out (at 10.30! am) they were told they would be charged for the night as they had booked for 2 nights. Unheard off. The staff was quite unfriendly and when they didn't have any car parking, they had to take out 5 cars in order to get ours out on Sunday morning, which took around 20 minutes. It is also very expensive as they charge 55eurosfor this closet size room with no service and if you complain the try to sell you a bigger room for 80Euros!

“Gorgeous!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 January 2010

This hostal is much more like a hotel. Beautiful and unique rooms with private baths and traditional Spanish-Muslim decore makes this place stunning. Air conditioning was very helpful and the staff was super sweet. Highly recommended.

“Decent Budget option”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 October 2009

The hotel is situated in the narrow cobbled streets about 10 minutes walk from the centre of the old town. The rooms are nicely decorated in Moorish style, though the bathroom was a little strange in that it was ensuite but was sort of if the bedroom cordoned off by a glass screen. Everything was perfectly clean, though the room was a little dark. There are a couple of bars nearby and although there was no noise from them, I was often awoken by people walking home and talking quite loudly. (I had the window open, and was on the ground floor) if closed I doubt this would have been a problem. The rooms have A/C too, so closing the window wouldnt be a problem even in summer.
In summary, I good budget choice, with unusual decor and well situated.

“Nice rooms but average service”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 September 2009

The interior is nice and the rooms very "exotic", even if its more morroccan style than spanish. The biggest drawback is the bathroom : it is located in the room thus not very private exept for the tainted glass.

The service was average and they didnt have a credit card machin which is very annoying.

“Wonderful hostel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 September 2009

We stayed at Hostel Lineros 38 l on 9 and 10 September 2009.

The hostel is just absolutely fantastic. We stayed in room 3 which was on the ground floor and the room was a wonderful surprise. Super kingsized four poster bed, excellent shower room and beautifully decorated with a Moroccan theme to it.

The hostel is just about an 8 minute walk to the centre.

Try the Museum of Wine and Tapas restaurant halfway down Lineros, the food and wine are excellent.

We would certainly recommend the hostel.
