There were a few good things - attractive public rooms, plentiful and reasonable quality breakfast, generally acceptable bedroom.
And lots of bad: - the reception staff were not welcoming and a group of 16 of us stood around for about 10 minutes while they decided whether we had a booking or not. They did, but weren't expecting us. (Not sure how that works....) The group meal we were served in the evening was overpriced and of indifferent to bad quality. I have never, in any hotel anywhere, been served a supermarket dessert in a plastic container. Two of our party asked to change rooms because of loud (hotel) machinery noise in their rooms and one because of the smell of paint. My own room was overheated, with no means of turning the heating down. Reception had to call in someone to deal with it. A complaint to Reception during the night about excessively noisy hotel guests was met with a claim not to speak English.
