“Cold Rooms in Winter!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 December 2011

It took a while for the room to heat up and was never fully warm. The room was clean as was the washroom. There was free wifi but it didn't work and the reception clerk could not reset the modem, telling us to wait til the morning. It has a nice courtyard where drinks from the bar can be taken but it was too cold in winter (would be nice in summer though). It is within 5-10 minutes walk to the Meskita and the juderia.

“High quality affordable hostel with good location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 December 2011

I love Hostal La Fuente. The location is really good, about ten to fifteen minutes walking distance away from the Mosque. It's easy to find since I walked all the way from the train station to the place, through the downtown shopping center. There is also a bus stop close to the place that can take you to the train station directly. A lot of really good restaurants nearby and some are strongly recommended either by tripadvisor or LP. I tried two, cheap and delicious! Also, I stayed there in early May when Cordoba was having its annual patio contest. There were two lines close to the Hostal so I rested a little bit during my trip between switching the lines. PS. Strongly recommend the patio contest. I truly love it!

For the Hostal itself, the young lady working at the front desk speaks pretty good English, and gave me several tips, but the gentleman did not speak English at all. But it didn't give me too many problems. The room is big enough and very clean with big TV. I stayed on the first floor and did not find it noisy at all. A lot of families stayed here so people are friendly. The only downside I can think is that wifi is only available in the public area, which means every time I tried to surf on the internet, I had to come out.

“Nice & simple in a good location, but don't use your GPS to get here!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 October 2011

A simple hotel, but clean with spacious apartment rooms for a family of 4 to fit in. To reach the apartments you do need to ascend a number of steps with your luggage.

The breakfast was again simple, but all fresh with lovely jamon and baguette.

One word of warning for those driving here from the east/north. DOn't use your GPS to get here directly from the motorway as it will lead you down a series of increasingly narrow streets that our mid-size rental car (BMW 3 series) could barely fit down. Then a perpendicular right turn we could not make meant we had to continue straight ahead, right back to the beginning again. Best to head to the north or west of Cordoba and head in that way.

Otherwise, this is in a great location and a great, and different, hotel.

“Good value for money”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 October 2011

A well-run, friendly hotel, off a central road, close to transport networks, local buses etc but with quiet, clean rooms, comfortable beds and very helpful staff. The main historic/cultural attractions are ten minutes' walk from the hotel, along routes well supplied with restaurants and cafes.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the first floor, at the back. They are quieter.

“Good value, good location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 September 2011

This hotel is close to the Mezquita and the Juderia and an easy walk to the rest of the town. Rooms and bathrooms were smallish but adequate and very clean. There's a nice courtyard with a breakfast available in the morning for a small fee. Secured parking is available if you're driving. The staff made an effort to be helpful but struggled a little with English (and we struggled even more with Spanish). Definitely recommended as an excellent value stay in Cordoba!
