“The worst NH hotel I have ever seen”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 December 2011

The hotel and the room we ok for a three star hotel. The bathroom was too small, the room was not clean enough and the staff was rude and unpleasant. They say they have parking but only for 1/4 of the rooms so there's a small probability you can have place for the car. When you ask them they do not offer any alternative, but they say "you can ask everyday if there is a park place free for you".

This is the worst NH hotel I have ever been to in my life, I have been in hostals and b&bs where everything was much better for a lower price.

“good location”

Right across street is a little street that winds into the Jewish quarter. Bus stop (to return to train station) is very near by, around the corner out front on main road. For a business hotel, the decor is a little dark (dark blue). We had rooms 107 and 108; one opened to the street, and the other opened into a chimney of a courtyard (so there was light, but no view). In 108 the bathroom also opened into this courtyard. The Paseo Victoria (main road) has a bakery, and if you keep walking up along Victoria and turn right onto Ronda? Tejares and keep walking it is the modern downtown area complete with lots of shops, people, and the ubiquitous El Corte Ingles department store of Spain. If you walk Lope de Hoces going east, and follow around the bend past the bar/brasserie cafe and turn left, around the corner there is a Fruiteria (very small fruit stand) that sells fruits and water bottles. (Bread can be bought along PAseo Victoria at the Rodilla if you don't want to go to the bocadillos shop across from the hotel.) Like an NH hotel, the bathroom amenities: there was a pretty orange square glycerine soap that smelled like oranges and good enough to eat (not really edible), a toothbrush and paste, a sponge (for washing), two shower caps, in addition to orange smelling shampoo/wash gel tube.
There is a minibar fridge in the rooms, which we did not partake, but I noticed the fridge did not seem to be cold inside at all.

“Good hotel in good location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 November 2011

We were not overwhelmed with this hotel, but it's certainly fine, right on the edge of the Jewish Quarter and its crazily winding little streets. Probably an easy 10-minute walk to the Mezquita/cathedral and a similar distance in the other direction to Tendillas Square and the surrounding locals-oriented shops. The buffet breakfast costs extra but is large and has a great variety, including fruits, breads, pastries, scrambled eggs and I guess what passes for bacon (very limp, not remotely crisp). Room 107 was comfortable, though smaller than a room we had at another NH hotel, and the bath was fine (though without much in the way of counter). Be careful with the door; if you don't pull it shut hard it may ease open on you unexpectedly. The parking is a little problematic. The garage is slightly east of the hotel on Lope de Hoces, which is off a major north-south road. I guess you have to pull over, race over to the hotel to ask them to open the parking garage door, and then race back over to your car. It's a quite congested area. On exiting the garage, the instructions we'd been given for how to open the door were wrong, so one of us had to bolt all the way back inside to ask the clerk to open it. Weird. Oh, at the front desk you can get vouchers for 15-minute Internet use at a computer in the lobby. No one at the front desk will get a personality award, but they were OK.

“Unexpected and somewhat rude response”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 November 2011

We stayed at this hotel for 1 night during our Andalucia expedition! Well, the location is superb, I have to admit. Just walk across the street, and you are inside the ancient walls and the Jewish quarter after 100m. But Cordoba is a strange town. You have to dig into the narrow streets a while before you grasp that you've fallen far away from your target. Having the best map doesn't help much. Besides, although youngsters seem to communicate in English, do NOT depend on their answers, because they have no idea of where monuments are, or what their names might be. The whole city smells even in mid-October, what a pity! The hotel, as part of a chain, does try to keep up to the standards, but in vain. The receptionist was quite rude while expressing that there were no smoking rooms. Not only was his English inadequate, but he was also reluctant. He made gestures, scrambled the reservation document indicating we had reserved a smoking room, etc. Maybe it is the company's fault, I don't care. If I have reserved a smoking room 6 months ago and payed in advance for it, I have to have that room, nothing can change that. Well, his ingenious solution was to say "you smoke if you want, what can I do?". Yes, in fact. Noone can do anything about it, but I hate breaking the rules, what about that? All in all, I was so upset that I did not look further into anything. Breakfast was OK. The room was OK, but a bit worn-out. Parking was too expensive and too tight. I'll file a complaint about this smoking room issue for sure, but I would not go stay there anyway. In fact, the room we took, smelled of smoke ... not only that, the city itself smells of feces! They charge you 8€ for the Mezquita, which is a cathedral built upon a mosque, but it is not worth seeing. Besides, there are many tourist traps in this town, especially the restaurants. Hard to beleive, but I advise everyone to stay away from this town during their trip to Andalucia. A 2-hours day visit would be more than enough.

“Good location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 November 2011

This hotel is in perfect, walking distance location to main attractions of Cordoba. Also you do not have to worry about the car because they have an underground garage. The garage is thight, but if you are driving in Spain you can manage it.The room was clean although the working AC in the room was blowing cool but not too fresh air. I think they need some filters in AC to be changed. Internet in the lobby, free for limited time (about10-15min).Thanks
