“QUIET, RELAXING STAY. PERFECT IF YOU ARE DRIVING.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 January 2012

We couldn't have been more satisfied with our stay at Ayre Cordoba this past November. We were looking for a comfortable, moderately-priced hotel outside the city center with plenty of parking, and not only did Ayre Cordoba meet our requirements perfectly, but it pleasantly surprised us. The perfectly manicured grounds are vast, with tennis courts, a nice swimming pool and a grill area. We were there in November, so there was not much outdoor activity going on, but I can only imagine how fun it must be to be there in the summer (or not, as I understand it can get quite hot in Andalucia in the summer :) The rooms and the bathroom were the biggest of all our stay in Spain; they were also immaculate and comfortable. If I could find a fault, which it really is a minor thing and it did not matter to us, it would be that the look is a tiny bit outdated, or so it seemed to us. The staff were friendly and helpful. The wifi worked without a hitch. We did not try the breakfast or the bar.
The hotel is located in a very nice residential neighborhood, and it is far from the city center. There is a bus stop, however, about a 10 min. walk from the hotel; this bus takes you right to the center or the train station, if you wanted to use this as a hub for day trips to the rest of Andalucia.
Overall, we would stay here again.

“Outstanding Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 January 2012

Summary : A very nice hotel in a very classy residential district. The room was splendid, being both huge, modern and clean. Despite being a triple and having a cot, it also had room for a 3 piece suite. The bathroom was also lovely.

For us, the location was not an issue as we had a hire car and it is not actually that far from the town centre. In fact, on all of the 3 days that we were there, we took a bus in to town (bus stop is 5 mins walk from hotel and journey takes 15 mins with stops) and a taxi back (10 mins and only 7-8 euros). We did this as parking is very difficult in Cordoba and it saved the hassle.
Being a residential area however, there are no restaurants or shops nearby. However if you are well organised, it's not an issue.

We had trouble finding the hotel as the sat-nav took us to the wrong half of the road. After asking around, all we had to do was go to the second half (which was on the other side of the roundabout). Sounds simple but was rather difficult as the roundabout had 5 exits and the second half was not marked. However, after the first time, no issues what so ever.

The whole hotel has the air of a high-class country hotel (the type companies often hold away days in) and the staff and environment were very nice.

Parking was also free, which was very convenient.

The drive to Madinat Al-Zahra only took 15-20 mins.

My only complaint is that the internet connection was very poor. Even though it was free, it should have been much better.

Overall, highly recommended.

“great hotel noisy room far away from town centre”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 December 2011

stayed for one night in a twin room, cost 45 euro. great if you are driving, plenty of parking spaces, out of town location, in an affluent residential area, very quiet outside. nice big garden, friendly staffs, spacious room with safe, tv, fridge, free wifi in room. very noisy inside, could hear loud fart, shower, and moving chair from next room, got woken up a couple of times. too far to walk to town, about 10 minutes drive to town. apart from that, it was a good hotel and would recommend.

“Relaxing location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 November 2011

We stayed here for a family wedding in early September. This was our first visit to Spain! The hotel in Cordoba was clean, staff was very helpful and friendly, and the bedrooms were spacious. The pool and the gardens lead to the tranquility of the visit. The hotel was conveniently located near the city; however, delivered a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of city life.

“NEED A CAR!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 October 2011

As per previous Advisors, nice enough hotel, good sized swimming pool (freezing though!) good sized room, if a bit plain, bed large and if you like a very hard mattress this is the hotel for you! Reception staff very efficient and friendly, unlike the old guy behind the (empty) bar who, when I didn't have my key and ordered a simple cup of tea, eyed me up as though I had shot his mother.
