“Puente (2 noches) / Two-night break”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 December 2011

Hotel - good. The rooms were clean and a good size with clean bathrooms and large beds. Service ranged from acceptable to very pleasant and the restaurant buffet breakfasts were great - jamón serrano (not the cheap York stuff) and a coffee machine which grinds the beans freshly before serving hot :-)

Only slight disadvantage was the walking distance from the city centre (about 30 minutes to the main seafront) but if you don't want to take a car there are a range of buses nearby and the fares are only €1.

This was a special promotion "2 nights for 1" from Vodafone España and has favourably affected the 'value' score. I'm not sure that we'd usually want to pay the normal 'offer' price for a hotel that far from the centre.

Curious staff in a nearby sandwich shop who obviously had great difficulty getting their heads round an English person who could speak Spanish reasonably well -real 'pueblo' mentality, one can only assume that "angloparlantes" don't usually beat a track to *their* establishment!

“Good value”

We had two rooms, both rooms were big and spacious. comfortable beds. the hotel is located on a main street near to a supermarket and a big mall. there is a free public parking around the hotel so try to find one befor you enter the hotels parking and pay for it!

. The hotel rooms and showers needs some renovation (a new coat of paint wouldn't hurt). The breakfast was too expensive so we didnt try it instead we walked up the street to a nearby coffee shop (it's calld "cafeteria") and had a lovely and inexpensive breakfast for 4.

“Great base for visiting Almeria”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 September 2011

We visited the hotel during August 2011, using it as a base to explore Almeria and the surrounding area. A taxi from the airport is 10-15 Euros, most people tended not to speak any substantial English so be prepared to have a Spanish phrase book and wing it.

The hotel itself was great value, the room was large and well-equipped, and the bathroom was also very nice. Staff at reception and on the bar were friendly and spoke reasonable English, better than our Spanish!

We didn't bother with the breakfasts as we preferred to eat out, if you are prepared to look around the area there are plenty of Tapas bars that serve great snacks at reasonable prices. The city itself is brilliant, Alcazaba is a must, the hotel serves as an ideal base with plenty of restaurants locally, and only a ten minute walk into the city centre, or a fifteen minute walk to the beach. There isn't a pool, but it has a usually uninhabited sun terrace, ideal for catching some rays. Be aware that water from the mini bar isn't free! Highly recommended.

“Do not stay here, they are fraudulent”

My partner and I stayed in this hotel back in September last year and used a credit card which should be a safe way of paying. In January of this year I noticed two transactions for approx 45 euros each from this hotel, then again in feb another two transactions for 45 euros each. So obviously they took a copy of my credit card and are using it without my authorisation!
