We really enjoyed our long awaited holiday here. Very friendly with some lovely food and nice accommodation. Some peace & quiet, with plenty of walking and one of the few true vegetarian & vegan options that you will find in this part of Spain (outside of Granada & Malaga at least!) Jean-Claude is charming and offers plenty of help with planning out day walks and for local information, including mineral springs and fruit/nut trees to keep an eye for in season. We were lucky enough to be able to collection fresh figs, rosemary and almonds each day in September. A bread van delivers to the square around about 1pm. Having the use of an apartment (there is a mix of accommodation) was a real bonus and allowed us to cook a couple of meals & make sandwiches in order to keep the costs down a bit. Particular favourite dishes included Moorish cigarillo's and a vegetarian version of a french potato & meat dish, the name of which escape us, but which was beautiful. We regretted not taking the cookery course after seeing the results of the lesson but our budget sadly could not stretch to include this. We would certainly go back, perhaps in late spring for a different season and more greenery but would recommend September for peace and warm temperatures. One drawback is the infrequent bus service forcing an early 6.15am departure or a late afternoon one to Granada but then that has perhaps kept this place a bit of a quiet treasure.
