Preface: internet very expensive, about EUR 8/hour, at a reasonable speed !!!! In times like these, internet should be available for free. We spent a holiday in Cambodia and Thailand this July, and rates per hour were less, with some hotels offering WLAN for free, respectively – unbelievable that the Leonardo trails way behind some Asian standard.
Location: huge hotel, about 1 km out off the center / pedestrian zone of Weimar, along Belvederer Allee, that also takes you to the castle of Belvedere, a couple of minutes away (by car);
hotel in a quiet area with front rooms facing a road, and rear rooms local area with villa-style housing, so quiet.
Parking: garage available, parking outside is about EUR 10 per day, cheaper than an hour of internet ;-(
Front-desk: nice welcome, let us move in at 1215 pm, gave me info on prices for the WLAN on the room, however, not mentioning, that the’cheap’ rate is the very slow rate of transmission.
Room: had #545, off the street; two beds in it, furniture you expect in any hotel, offers some space, everything clean, and quiet ! bathroom needs the one and only adjustment (some black and brown stains between tiles, a few only, though)
Breakfast: disappointing, plates and dishes dominate the buffet, in between that 'warehouse-feeling' some limited variety of food for that type of hotel and standard,
so far the least attractive breakfast buffet we’ve had (görlitz/mercure; dresden/elbflorenz; berlin/kanthotel; leipzig/mercure, see reviews);
Staff: first hotel we’ve been in in the recent days where members of the staff don’t greet guests when passing them (e.g. on floor)
but it was quiet in there !
