This hotel is located walking distance from the main train station, or if you do not want to walk for 15 minutes, take the number 4 tram it is 4 stops to Theaterplatz. The trip costs just EUR1.70pp one-way, or your can get a day pass for EUR4.70. Erfurt has a lot to offer by itself, but is also a great base to go and explore Thüringia's (the state of which it is the capital) other attractions such as Eisenach's Bachhaus, Wartburg Castle and Classical Weimar. Erfurt's modern opera house is opposite in the same square.
The staff don't speak English very well, but this is to be expected off the well-trodden tourist trail of Germany. There is a direct train to Frankfurt International Airport from the Hauptbahnhof, and the Thüringia central Tourist Information Centre is opposite the station.
The restaurant is a little expensive, and the menu is misleading in that it offers asparagus and cheese for EUR14 and the meat dish for EUR8 on top of that. The English menu is not clear that the meat dish cannot be ordered separately from the asparagus. So watch out.
There was no tea/coffee service in the room, which we would have expected from anything from a Mercure up, let alone a Pullman 5-star.
The breakfast buffet is very generous, and is as good as even the Radisson's Super Breakfast.
It is a lot newer than the Radisson Erfurt close by, and the lobby is ultra modern, spacious and tastefully decorated. There used to be a cinema and a printing press here, and these have little mini-exhibits if you are interested in that sort of thing (old typewriters and the like).
There is free internet for in-house guests in the lobby fitted with a colour printer for your DB reservations or flight online checkin. I doubt whether the WiFi is free in the room.
There is a little 7Eleven type shop in front of the Mariendom (probably Erfurt's biggest attraction with the Gloriosa bell) if you want to shop for provisions.
