“Nice hotel with spa area”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 December 2011

The Hotel is located a little bit outside the centre of Lübeck, but only a short walk from the railway station.
The room was nice and big, with very comfortable beds. It had a small kitchennette, but that was not very useful as there were no pots, pans, plates or cutlery, not even a kettle for boiling water, so if you want to make a cup of coffee you should bring that yourself.
The biggest plus was the free use for hotle guests of the saunas (different temperatures and with and without steam) and pool in the spa area. Very relaxing after a day about town.
The breakfast buffet was not included in the room price, but it was worth the extra cost, with a good selection of nice, fresh food, including eggs, bacon and saussages, good bread, and fresh fruit.

“lovely hotel with huge rooms and wonderful breakfast”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 October 2010

From the outside it doesn't look like a hotel. It is a recidential block converted into a hotel. But the outside appearance decieves. The hotel is a gem. Rooms are huge with own sofa arrangement. Beds are really nice. Everything is so clean, and there is a cosy yet stilish atmosphere. The best part is the breakfast. Very well assorted, fresh, and a chef preparing eggs to your liking.

It is a 15 -20 minutes walk outside the old Lübeck. But the neighborhood is quiet and safe.

I strongly recommend the hotel.

“Highlight of trip”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 August 2010

After a bad experience in Hamburg I needed a good hotel to review my spirits. Unfortunately I could only stay one night in this hotel. I could have stayed much longer. The room, food, service and wellness center were excellent. It was very relaxing being there and I really enjoyed it. Ok if you were going to be picky then you would say that the hotel is 20mins from the centre and the TV was too small but to be honest they are minor things. This is one of the best hotels I have stayed in particularly for service

“Comfortable hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 August 2010

The hotel is about 5-10 mins walk from the train/bus station, *away* from the old town, meaning it takes about 20 mins to walk to the old town. The area however seems fine.

My rooms was comfortable spotless and had pretty much everything I needed. Of course, I could have wanted a TV that was 2 metres wide, but that kind of room usually costs a few hundred euros per night. All the staff I spoke to could easily converse in very good english

Breakfast was ample - standard bread, jams, meat, cheeses and cooked eggs and covered me for lunch.

The rates you can get on the hotel website, are rather better than they will quote you on the phone. Turning up at almost midnight seemed to be no problem (and no I hadn't paid a deposit) - they held the room for me and had the registration form ready when I arrived. If however you're really counting the pennies, then you can probably find rooms in Lubeck for less money.

The hotel makes a big play of their spa and wellness centre, but apart from getting lost on the way to breakfast and someone in the spa giving me directions to the food, I can't comment

Overall, it's the kind of midrange hotel you expect from the Germans. Well managed, efficient, courteous staff and everything works but lacking in personality

“A great city in Northern Germany”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 July 2010

A small and beautiful city, a great hotel to stay, only 1km from the city centre. Also the cities of Travemunde, Priwaltz, Timmendorfer Strand, Schwerin and others are lovely. The environment is very green and untampered with. It's an unknown treasure at the old East-West divide between West and East.
