We stayed here one night on our way to Sweden, booking a "seaside" double room with the "Savour and Wellbeing" package at euro 490 for the night.

The room (301) was spacious but, although on the "sea side" of the hotel, had no view of the sea unless you stood by the small attic window! Most of the sea side of the hotel is taken up by public areas, so hardly any bedrooms have a real sea view - those on the ground floor have hedges in front which largely hide the sea view. The sloping ceiling and beams in our attic bedroom limited movement around the room. The room was comfortably furnished and quiet.

The package included a facial treatment each, which lasted over an hour, and a 4 course dinner in their main restaurant. We had a very nice table on the terrace overlooking the sea, with blankets on each chair in case we felt cold later in the evening. The food was beautifully presented, but not very tasty - at least 2 courses were over-salted and the set menu overdosed on seasonal asparagus.

Service in the restaurant was excellent but, surprisingly for a 5 star hotel, the receptionist who checked us in spoke little English - luckily she was rescued by a charming colleague who also showed us to our room.

Breakfast was outstanding - an enormous spread of very high quality, probably the best we had on our 3 week trip.

Charging 10 euro a night for car parking outside the hotel on top of the euro 490 for the package seems over the top.

After leaving the hotel, my wife realised that she had left a jacket in the wardrobe in our room, so we phoned the hotel and arranged to collect it on our return from Sweden two weeks later. When we returned to the hotel to collect it, the receptionist on duty at first insisted (twice!) that there was no record of the jacket waiting to be collected but, when I persisted, she eventually went to look in a room behind reception, only to find it very clearly marked with our room number!

A pleasant hotel in a great beachside position, but not a 5 star one in our view. One night was enough for us and we shall not return.
