There is only one thing wrong with this Etap and that is the noisy location next to a traffic circle. Everything else is the standard fare you expect from this budget hotel. We arrived to check in early in the afternoon but in spite of this we could not get a quiet room facing the back. There was one room left, however, that was quiet - only problem was, the window could not be opened. After being informed of the fact that the rooms were airconditioned, we accepted. The room turned out to be fine but just as we were going to bed, the central aircon was turned off. And it stayed off all night making us feel as if we didn't receive any fresh air. Almost choked. But, the room was quiet...

I've stayed at this Etap hotel on several occations when travelling through Europe. It's a good place to spend the night, it is possible to walk to the old city center even if it is a bit far, but the hotel itself is not amongst the best hotels I've seen.

Most of my reviews seem to comment on the fact that you can't make reservations for a non-smoking room in France and Germany, and this Etap is no exception. In this particular case it feels as if the trade off between comfort and value is not nearly good enough.

The room we stayed in was quiet, facing the parking lot towards the back of the hotel. There was an air conditioning unit, though with it running the stench of old cigarettes became unbearable. For some reason the WC smelled heavily of cigarettes as well, almost too much to stand.

The white painted standard walls of Etap were dirty - probably old dirt that is hopeless to remove, but in that case the room would need an urgent repaint.

The parking is OK, provided that you are not the last one to arrive. It can be a bit crowded but the spaces are well organised.

For an Etap hotel, the breakfast exceeded my expectations. There was fresh bread and an assortment of cheese and marmelades, as well as youghurts and orange juice.

The room we got was stinking of smoke and tobacco. We left the window open for hours but it didn't help in regard to the bedding. Next night we spent in non smoking Swedish Ibis in Lund where I was afraid that the smoke detectors will give an alert because all of the smoke fumes that were emitted by my pyjamas.
