Room: Spacious. The bed was quite comfy. Equipped with a small round table with 2 chair, a desk with a chair, a fridge and a wardrobe. No flat screen tv (yet) though so you'll have to be content with that old style tv. :)

Bathroom: Of good size. I particularly like the glass sliding door leading to the bathroom.

Breakfast: Can't comment as we did not book a room with breakfast. There is McD 5 minutes drive away where one can have bfast.

Location: Not in town. About 10-15 minutes drive.

Other points:
- Free parking.
- If I'm not mistaken, the hotel does not offer free internet but there a computer station that a guest can use (ask at the reception).

I would recommend this hotel to a friend if he/she goes by car.

The Ghotel in Kiel is about three (3) kilometers from the train station, but is very comfortable and affordable. My wife and I spent one night here in December 2009. The hotel was very clean. Rooms were oriented in a different configuration than I usually see for a double room, but were spacious. The hotel appears to have been a Deutsche Post hotel at one time, the Deutsche Post logo was woven into the carpet. The buffet breakfast was excellent and offered a wide variety of food items. TV channels in the room were mostly German, 2 Danish channels. No English selections in the late evening when I turned the TV on. Still, the price was very good. This appears to be mostly a business hotel. Internet service is offered by T-Mobile for a fee.

This is definitely the best 3-star hotel we have ever stayed. The quality and the facilities of the room have rather a 4-star hotel standards. The room is tasteful decorated, large and very comfortable. And off course, it was perfectly clean. The bathroom is divided by frosted glass which looks very nice. This hotel has no lift and restaurant, this are probably the reasons that it has been rated as 3-star in stead of 4-star. So, for dinner, we decided to go to the city centre by car (it is not walking distance from hotel).

Our room looks into the inner garden, so it was very quiet. We have slept very well. On the second day, we were surprised by the extensive breakfast. They serve things like eggs, sausage, smoked salmon, tomatoes with mozzarella etc, which we usually do not expect from a 3-star hotel. Everything was fresh, delicious and well presented. For what we paid: € 71,- per night, this hotel is certainly highly recommended for travellers by car.

This is a nice, newer hotel that I only would consider again if traveling to Kiel with my own car. Not a good location if you are relying on public transport because of the distance from the Innerstadt and the lack of restaurants and other businesses in the immediate area. The breakfast was somewhat limited, flies on some of the food, and crabby staff. The positive was the nice, large, clean room with good Internet access via T-Mobile HotSpot.
