This hotel is situated quite some distance outside Kiel by a marina that was closing for the winter.
The owner spoke German very quickly with a very strange accent and made no attempt to understand my German. He didn't try to understand a word of English or Dutch, but he understood cash upfront (no credit or debit cards).
The room smelled musty but looked just clean enough. Everything in it seemed 30 years old.
Breakfast was meager and consisted mostly of cheese and ham apparently salvaged from earlier guests' plates.
It's the worst I've ever stayed in in Germany in this price range.
