“we will not use this hotel again”

positive and godd - personell breakfast and location.
Internet - they claim to have internet in the room. Not true. Works in the lobby only (apparently depending which room one is in).
Cleanliness - far from what one should expect. \carpets on stairs and hallways are filthy. In the bathroom - ceiling is wet and there is mold. Towels - probably bought nused from other hotels and sure show the number of times they ave been used. So far we are here 4 nights, towels were not changed so far. Soap - one has to ask each and every time. As long as they see one drop ofsoap left in the tighny bottle - NO new one! One full new one barely lasts for 2 adults.
We have a non smoking room. It smells of smoke. They smoke everywhere, and the smell finds its way into the room.
Really a bad deal for the money we pay. Will never use it or recommend it.

We stayed for three days at the Schweriner Hof during our two-week honeymoon in Germany in August 2001. We were delighted with the room, the location, and the elegant old building, but most especially the service. I had come down with a cold that week, and the hotel people were fantastic--making me flasks of tea to take up to our room, directing us to the nearest Apotheke, and everything. The breakfast buffet was fantastic, and the hotel is walking distance from antique shops, bookstores, the Holstenstrasse pedestrian mall, and the Karstadt dept. store. From here we drove up the coast to visit Schleswig and the Viking Museum at Haithabu. Can't wait to go back!
