For a business trip I needed a short term booking in Magdeburg and found the Maritim as an appropriote option. The hotel is situated in the city center and can be reached easily by car. A parking garage is available for € 18 per night.
The reception is very professional and also very kind and efficient. I stayed in the comfort room that was clean and of a good size, with a good bed and a spacy bathroom. The TV was a little outdated, the minibar filled but not cool and the airco did not work. Luckily the window could be opened widely so the temperature in the room at night was OK.
The breakfast is a German style with way too many choises, nice fresh brewn coffee is served on request and the restaurant offers good food for diner for a very reasonable price.
All in all the stay was good, and I will certainly choose the hotel again when I have to come back to Magdeburg one day. I hope that by then the minibar and airco are repaired.

This is a 4 1/2 (?!) stars big hotel in the city center. Nice lobby. The hotel is clean and decently maintained, but (in my opinion) the rooms need refurbishment. Everything dates back to the nineties. No free wifi in the rooms, and that was very disappointing to me (especially because it seems to be a business-oriented hotel). Good breakfast. There is a swimming pool area with sauna and a small fitness center.

The hotel is really clean, it is quite. The food is also delicious.
The hotel it-self is old, however it well renovated and maintained. Service is perfect. There is a pool free of charge. The parking has an easy access.
Internet is avaiable but it is not free.
One little drawback is that if the room is facing the front street if you open the windows is a little bit noisy during the day (no problem if the windows are closed).

For a very reasonable price (negotiated by the conference I attended) you have an excellent, clean room and a remarkable breakfast (included in the price) with virtually hundreds of dishes (the best time for a breakfast is after 9am, when there are not too many people). The hotel is very well located in the town, a few minutes walk from the railway station.
