As I only came to Leipzig for a couple of days, I needed a hotel not far from the main railway station and Novotel Leipzig City is ideally located right across the street from the station and only a short walk from the city centre.

The standard room was clean and comfortable, with comfy beds and a clean bathroom. I did not have breakfast at the hotel – the only thing I know about it is that it is a bit overpriced (€15 as far as I remember), which is typical of the Novotel chain. No tea and coffee making facilities and no safebox in the room. Nice and friendly reception staff.

The city sightseeing bus stops just round the corner.

The rooms were tidy and clean but the sleep was not so nice - in fact the pillow was just cheap and too small. This happens often in hotels but I as often critisize this point. The pillow was without real feathers and I personally cannot stand this.

Another negative aspect were the "fitness" facilities: one tread-mill (which was occupied already but surely this can happen), one bike, a stepper and that was pretty much it. No weights are anything else - certainly not what you expect.

Good location, nearly in city center, in front of main station. Room was big but nearly "empty", not modern and not renovated for a long time. Looks like 10 years old. No safe box in the room, heating not working or they didn't turned on in Jan. Breakfast very poor.

A pleasant surprise - a splendid hotel in a perfect location.
We walked everywhere.
A good size room and comfortable. Even a view - of the little
park opposite.
We didn't breakfast at the hotel - at Eu14 a touch expensive
for what was on offer.
Only one other small criticism : The shower over / within the
bathtub is just about ok, but we would rather have the
standard / ubiquitous Ibis shower - in fact nothing ever beats
the Ibis shower !
But allround - a big thank you.
