We arrived at the hotel walking from the railways station.
We had not a lot of luggage otherwise is wiser to go there by bus.
We then went to the city center on foot and after 5 minutes walking you are already in a more attractive area. Keeping walking we arrived at the very center of Leipzig which is very nice with a lot of nice buildings.
We had a great rate for the hotel and the breakfast was included. The breakfast was very good!

Enjoyed Leipzig more than I thought I would (great xmas markets etc) but same cant quite be said for the hotel.

Its not that its a very bad hotel in anyway (clean, big room, very helpful/responsive reception etc) but we experienced several annoyances. Expected more from a Ramada.

1st On arrival the entrance to the hotel is a bit tricky to find. the hotel is located in the roof of a larger building so the hotel only has a narrow entrance on ground floor which is on the side road not the main. There are signs but you will find you self wandering round trying to find it if not arriving by taxi. Minor annoyance.

2nd The weather was 10 below zero outside when we were there but the heating was off in the room on arrival! The room appeared to only be heated by a small aircon unit. Either there was a fault with the unit or the room was just too big/cold for the room to get warm enough, even though the unit was on flat out for the duration of our 1 night stay from 3pm.

3rd Breakfast was priced at an unbelievable €15 each!!! Our evening meal cost just less than this in Leipzig. Breakfast didnt look anything particularly special to warrant that price, we ate else where.

4th The water temperature in the shower was variable to say the least. After 2-3mins the temperature nose dived.

5th We were aware of this at booking though to be fair. Calling the hotel a city centre hotel is a bit dubious. Its in the city yes but not central. Its out side the central area and about 10+ mins walk to the outer edge of the central area. About 20+ to very centre. 25mins+ to DB station. Tram stop is under 5 mins walk away from hotel though with direct trams to station in about 10mins.

Dont get me wrong theres nothing disasterous about the hotel but compared to the others on our Germany tour this was the least enjoyed (especially given price paid compared to others).

Rated a 3, just, based on our experience vs price paid, or a 2.5 If I could have given it that. Will try Ibis/Intercity hotel next time.

Stayed here during World Cup but having booked well in advance still got a reasonable rate, not the case everywhere.

As described elsewhere this is on top of a shopping centre. If arriving by car you must change lifts from the car park.

Very limited food other than breakfast, literally 1 or 2 bar snacks. There was an external company pizza delivery menu in the room. On ringing reception the lady could offer me no other advice than to go in to the centre, I'd just come from there. I went for a walk. There was a decent Italian, right twice and then left at the lights, 5 minute walk. Also a large Chinese if you had gone straight on at the lights, not tested. Turned out the pizza delivery place was actually on the ground floor of the building.

Location ok 15 mins walk or a few minutes on a tram to the centre, the work referred to elsewhere must have finished now.

Would generally prefer to stay in the centre but not always ossible and this would usually be chaeper for the same standard. I guess some may come to visit the businesses under the hotel.

Room was fine, clean and cool and quiet. Would stay again in similar circumstances.

Stayed four nights here. Loved Leipzig! Decent room, very nice staff, good breakfast. A two-minute walk to the tram stop and, on occasion, a 15-minute walk to the edge of the charming city center. My only major complaint was lack of Internet access: no wireless, no high-speed cables, not even dial-up accessible phones. However, for $80 per nite, it was worth it.
