Stayed four nights here. Loved Leipzig! Decent room, very nice staff, good breakfast. A two-minute walk to the tram stop and, on occasion, a 15-minute walk to the edge of the charming city center. My only major complaint was lack of Internet access: no wireless, no high-speed cables, not even dial-up accessible phones. However, for $80 per nite, it was worth it.

This hotel was modern and clean though it’s a 15 to 20 minute walk into town. The street into town was all torn up with road works so the walk wasn’t the most pleasant. It’s in a modern building and and you take an elevator up to the 7th floor to get to the lobby. it takes up 2 floors of that building, I think. There’s no restaurant for dinner or Internet use in the hotel but I’d stay there again.

Given its 3-star rating my expectations haven't been that high. It was hard to find the hotel from the train station as the tram instructions given on the booking confirmation were wrong. Due to construction on the track, there was a diversion of the tram service and the hotel was only reachable by a replacement bus. Well, that's not the hotel's fault, but it would have been nice if they had informed me in advance.
The hotel itself was a pleasant surprise. It is only a few years old and in a very good condition. The hotel is in the 7th and 8th floor of the newly constructed "Gutenberg Palais" which is mainly an office building. Two glass-wall elevator take you up. All rooms are airconditioned which is a big plus in summer and normaly cannot be expected in three star hotels in Germany.
The best was the breakfast buffet which featured - among lots of other items - scrambled eggs, sausages, bacon, ham, cereals, 6 different joghurts and even freshly squeezed orange juice! The staff and service was also very friendly. I would definitely stay there again if there is a good rate available, although the location is just a bit out of way (it takes about 15 minutes to get to the city centre by tram).
