We spent 5 nights at this friendlyl hotel while attending the Bach Festival. The tired (another reviewer's description) decor was hardly an issue, as the wonderful display of the art on the walls distracted you from any decor shortcomings. We stayed in a suite with a large bedroom, a comfortable living and kitchen. This was great value and far cheaper than a one bedroom in a large impersonal corporate hotel.
The breakfast was generous and tasty. We were stuck for a meal after an early evening concert and the kitchen kindly accomodated us with a meal.

I just had a business trip to Leipzig and stayed in that little family-owned hotel. Parked my car on the hotel parking lot (costs extra). They have generally great service personnel, are always friendly, the breakfast-buffett is overwhelmingly for that price. The rooms are rather small, but o.k. The size of the TV could be bigger, they have only 14 inch screens. Everything is clean. What I did not like about that hotel, was that there is a smooking area right at the entrance. You step into the hotel and are stucked in that smoke. I paid 51 Euro per night incl. breakfast, which is unbeatable. Even for Leipzig.

Having read some trip advisor reviews after we book the hotel, we were anticpating a pretty bad time here. Actually the experience was really good. I got a room on the 5th floor, which was actually really spacious - another colleugue had a small room on the 4th floor - but all rooms we saw were very clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel has a nice feeling, and the art is varied and interesting too.
We wrere there start of October, so there wasnt an issue with lack of air conditioning, this would be a problem in August. Although you can walk to the station/city center (about 20 mins or so) there's a marginal patch ebtween, so at night your probably better off taking the tram - easy and frequent, about 3 mins walk from the hotel door.

Dreadful hotel. Tiny rooms (literally as big as a double bed), no air-con, very tired decor and in grim area.
Breakfast was fairly basic.
Only redeeming feature was helpful staff.
I stayed here as was visiting conference centre (approx 2 miles from City Centre).
