The most positive aspect of this hotel is its location and staff. The room itself was 'Very' dated,carpets and windows dirty, and such basics as shampoo was missing.Telephone charges were .50E per unit(.80 Canadian) and they seem to charge from the moment you dialed.Three ladies on the counter could not tell me what in fact a unit was. There are many other good hotels in the area to choose from with similar prices. I picked this one because my favourite just down the street was fully booked. Now I know why.

I was very pleased. Room was a good size, I slept very well.. staff was very pleasant, just around the corner from Old city. Wifi, kitchinet, great bathroom.
Breakfast buffet very good.. served by sweet ladies I did not like the room where it was served. It was fine, nothing wrong with it, but below Ground I think it was... this was not a problem.
Price was excellent for Leipzig.

If you are looking for a honeymoon hotel, this is not your pick.

But, if you are looking for a 3-minute walk to the Leipzig Central train station (many shops and fastfood store and the main tram hub); 5 minute walk to nice Bistros and downtown; good breakfast buffet with fresh croiassants and exotic fruit salad, then this is for you.

Like every hotel I have ever been to in Germany, this hotel is cleaner than some 5-star hotels I have seen elsewhere in the world. The pillows, however, are not very nice. I hope the hotel will do something about that.

Otherwise, perfect for a solo business traveller.

We did not feel welcome from the minute we have arrived. The atmosphere was tense. The hotel representative was very hostile when dealing with the hotel misunderstandings in regards to our online booking and its terms. Unfortunately, he made several remarks and accusations based apparently on bigotry and prejudice believe in regards to our origin and nationality.

Also note that in front of the hotel there is a very active construction sight so no parking is allowed in front of the hotel. Parking is only possible in an open and unattended muddy parking area. It seems unpleasant to approach your car at night.
