This property is great. A true 4 star hotel. Staff were very friendly and super efficient. It is located just around the corner from the Christmas market, and is a 10 minute cab journey from the train station. Plenty of shopping nearby too. The only drawback was the lack of free internet (although they do advertise it) in the room. There is a free internet machine in the common area near reception, but it's dial up speed. See other reviews for positive comments.

The hotel was excellently sited, close to all the most visited landmarks. 30 seconds from Frauenkirche, 3 minutes from Zwinger, 15 minutes from Hauptbahnhof (walking).
The staff are very polite, friendly and helpful and I felt very welcome. Large and very comfortable room with kingsize bed, good bathroom with all neccesary facilities, comfortable lounge chairs in the room. Buffet breakfast was excellent.
Rather expensive breakfast - 20 euro per person

Had a fantastic stay at the Steigenberger. I was here on a business trip and was given complimentary internet vouchers for the duration of my stay. The ambiance of the hotel was amazing. The best part is the location of the hotel. Just fantastic. I would definitely be visiting here once again.

Stayed in this very conveniently located hotel for four nights in early December. It's within easy walking distance of all the main attractions. Dresden's Christmas markets are second to none in terms of ambience and charm. The Frauenkirche is close by and has regular concerts. The Opera, with its wonderful productions, is only a short walk away. And don't miss the treasures of the "Green Vault"- book tickets in advance. The hotel offers excellent value for money and the breakfasts are five star. If one had to criticise anything it would be the rather brown overtones of its decor; and the tissues are hidden behind the bathroom door!
