The NH Dresden is a average hotel.
Rooms are in typical NH low standard "style".
Location is quite a bit outside of the city center and pretty bad;
either you walk a mile and take the train for 3 Euros per Person
or you take a taxi to the city with costs around 6 Euros per way.
But be aware outside of the high season there are not so many taxis in Dresden, and the most are lining up at the airport. So its sometimes difficult to catch one for your way back.
The bed was pretty hard and not comfy.
Staff was friendly and helpful.
Breakfast: Good and wide selection but expensive: 16 Euros per person
There is only a drawback there: The coffee is in a jug on the table and not replaced after guests. Most likely, you will find some stale, cold coffee and have to first catch a waiter (not that easy) to bring you fresh coffee. For 16 Euros per Person a fresh coffee for every guest should be a minimum level of service.
Room Service: 3 Dishes (Burger, Clubsandwich and Soup) to choose from, expensive plus an additional 5 Euros tray charge.
(The McDonalds on the opposite side of the hotel might be a better option, you get there for 5 Euros a complete meal)
Internet: horrible and expensive: 24h= 10 Euros for the Economy package, which is slow and limited or 18 Euros for only slightly faster and unlimited Internet.
Tipp: When arriving or leaving by train take the Station "Dresden Neumarkt" instead of Dresden HBF(Main Station) there are taxis as well and it`s a lot closer...a lot of trains as well ICE high speed trains stop there on its way to Dresden.
