The former East-German cities have an abundance of good hotels for next to nothing prices. Dresden is one of those cities where you can stay smack in the center for 35 Euro a room in a good hotel. The Park Inn isn't a bad hotel, but it has its drawbacks. The biggest one is the location, outside the city center it sits on the other side of the river, kind of alone, not a lot of restaurants around.
The rooms have a decent size, a flatscreen and a minibar with mini beverages. The breakfast is plenty and assorted, but that same setting doesn't work as a bar in the evening. German bars aren't very inviting most of the time, this one is a bit worse. Go out the hotel, take a left, another left and after about 500 meters you find a real bar.
Staff was very attentive and parking was ample. There is also a parking garage for 8 Euro, which in our case was empty but for two other cars.
If you need to stay over, book it. If you want to visit the city, look a bit further, unless you like walking.
