I knew the Dorint of Amsterdam at Schiphol so I decided to spend 4 nites in Historic Dresden. It is on a tramline, 12, directly a few stops from the railway station, Your stop right in front of the hotel is called Hygiene Museum [which is still a block away on a side street].Your 1 and 2 trams get you right downtown to the Altmarkt/ Old Market from where you may go to the huge 3 story indoor mall, or you can see the golden tops of the Residenzschloss, and the other attractions. This hotel amply deserves whatever stars it was given. Everything first rate! Pool, sauna, schwitz, restaurant. They served my favorite chanterelles/Pfifferlinge and I got triple the regular helping for a small extra price. They had juice and mentholated napkins at the front door for runners or walkers, if you wish. They loaned me a bathrobe and I enjoyed every minute at the pool down there. Two huge waveproducing machines inside the pool. Ice cream being served right there, resting rooms, lounge chairs, newspapers for those who read while resting...
