“Typical Business style modern hotel block good breakfast though”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 September 2011

A very typical budget hotel like the uks travelodges in the suburbs of dresden.

It has underground parking and is only a couple of very short bus stops from the centre.

It also did a very fine breakfast buffet, however no air con in the relatively small rooms & you had to pay for wi-fi.

Ok for a business or overnight stop and I guess I'd stay again but for longer visits i'd be looking for somewhere else with a bit more soul.

“Good place to stay for a few nights”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 August 2011

We came there for a conference in Dresden University – and decided to walk from main station. The walkway isn't the best you imagine, I recommend taking a cab or a bus – but still, you get there using your own two feet within about 20 min.
Don't expect a fancy designer lobby, but as the whole hotel, it's clean, beds are comfortabel and staff is friendly. Breakfast wasn't included in our price and it would have been to pricy to book it additionally, so we decided on grabbing some food at University every morning – so I can't say anything about the breakfast there.
Though it's not that central, you're very good with the brewery restaurant next door providing good food and beer.
Overall, it's a good place to stay for a reasonable price, even it's not fancy.

“Off the Beaten Track, but worth it!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 July 2011

I was looking for a resonably priced hotel within walking distance to the Central Rail Station. It is approximately a 10 minute walk from the bahnhof but in the opposite direction of Dresden's attractions. The room was spartan, with a small tv, desk and two single beds but more than adequate for solo traveller. The toilet with shower was simple & clean. Breakfast was an additional cost ( I believe 7 euro) so I declined but I found a small bakery/cafe in the neighbourhood where 2 euro bought me a coffee and pastry. The neighbourhood seems to be comprised mainly with apartment buildings with not a great deal of offerings in the immediate vicinity. There is, however, a sizeable Brewery Stammhaus located adjacent to the hotel with excellent food and drink. Each day I walked back to the rail station and then a further 10-15 minutes thru the shopping district to see the sights along the Elbe. While service was efficient it was not exactly welcoming or friendly. Overall, I knew that I had received a very good price and was prepared to go off the beaten track. At the end of the day it was worth it.

“Good value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 November 2010

The hotel was very clean and comfortable, a good value for the price. The neighborhood was a bit out from the city center, but nothing terrible.

“Good value if you don't mind being slightly out of city center”

We stayed here 4 nights, and were very happy with the room (clean and reasonably sized) and the price. From the train station, it was probably a 15 minute (mostly uphill) walk to get to the hotel, which was a little bit hard going through the dreary DDR buildings of the neighborhood. The hotel is situated close to university apartments, but not any of the sites, but is convenient to the Altstadt by foot (1.5 mi) or 82 bus, which as stated below, is easy to buy tickets for at the machine across the road from the hotel. We did not pay for breakfast at the hotel, but instead availed ourselves of the offerings at the Lidl store very closeby, where we got delicious yogurt in their store and pastries at their sunny bakery. There was also a cute bakery across the road in the first floor of one of the buildings, which had good treats. Hotel staff were nice, and there's a little bar in the lobby, which is available at all hours (hubby had a very upset stomach, so a 7 euro sprite saved the night!).
