“mishap with Hotel Bulow”

Although this is a most prestigious address and has an excellent dining room, in some of the bedrooms, in our case a junior suite, the air conditioning was both noisy and not effective cooling the room. Worse however was a problem , financial in nature, while staying at this fine hotel where we had 3 rooms ,when we realized that the Dresden based travel agent who booked the hotel for us mistakenly booked without our authority 2 of the rooms for our 5 children for one night that they were no longer going to be in Dresden. The management would give us a refund us for either of the unused rooms and would not even refund the charges for the 5 breakfasts that they did not eat ( because they weren't there ). We were good clients while staying in the hotel, spending handsomely for suppers for the 7 of us on two occasions. Since the hotel was not fully booked, they did not turn away any business because of the mistaken booking. We would have expected better treatment from this prestigious hotel.

  • Liked — The dining room is excellent
  • Disliked — The quality of furnishings was a bit shabby and the airconditioning was primitive for a fine hotel

Just loved this hotel. Staff are absolutely gorgeous. Rooms are devine, great position and so quaint. Just like a first class B & B. restaurant surperb. 10 mins walk to station. 5 mins walk to old city and beautiful buildings.

  • Liked — Position, rooms, staff everything
  • Disliked — nothing

“A wonderful stay - couldn't ask for more”

Last week we spent 3 nights at the Hotel Bulow at the conclusion of a tour. Just wonderful. Our room was large and well appointed with flat screen tv's, and many features. The bath was large and modern. The minibar was stocked with a half dozen differant beverages and were complimentary (where have you ever seen that?) Each morning I ordered a large pot of coffee and was surprised that it was complimentary also. Great helpful staff - the manager walked down the block with us to help point us in the direction of a restaurant we were headed for. Far exceeded my expectations. And an excellent restaurant in house too!

Located in "new town" area across the bridge from "old town" which was an easy walk. Lots of dining and shops in the area. As good as staying in a Four Seasons.

“Excellent hoel”

Stayed at this excellent hotel for three nights in July. It's an easy ten minute walk from the main sights and is in a very lovely part of the town recently restored.Excellent staff, almost all young girls and a extremely helpful Manager all make this a great place to stay. The restaurant which has a michelin star is first rate with some very imaginative cooking.Dresden itself contains some great treasures of which the Green Vault collection is unbelievable. The only blight remains some post war blocks of flats of typically hideous constuction.Perhaps in a few years the money will be available to replace them.

“Old World Charm i”

Just back from our stay at this property. It was a last minute booking as we were in transit late at night. They accomodated us (3 adults) in a large room with nice ammenities and complimentary mini-bar. The staff was gracious, helpful and obliging in this charming property. Although we didn't eat in their restaurant it appeared to be of their Relais & Chateaux standard. The bar downstairs is very comfortable and cozy. My only complaints are that the bathroom, although well appointed, was small and the pull-out couch was reportedly not very comfortable. All in all... it was a beautiful property and I'd consider staying there again... depending on if I have the kids in tow.
