Location: in a quiet area, in the World Trade Center building, Dresden’s attractions within walking range (about 10-15 minutes away, or two stops by tram 12, stopping right outside the hotel).
Frontdesk: kind of mixed feeling, the girl checking us in rolled her eyes when we requested a quiet room far away from the lifts; fellow-workers were all friendly and supportive.
Room: had 439 for 2 nights, to the garden-side (that's the quiet side!), room very small, could open our hard-case Samsonite, and deposit it in an open condition, only after having rearranged some of the furniture; walls very thin, in the corners it seems, that upper surface of wall is of card-board (?) [see picture proviede]; the bed is kind of small queen-size, in addition, when your partner moves, the mattrasse, one piece, moves too, so getting some nice sleep kind of difficult. pillows small and too soft.
Important: it seems that the majority of rooms get burned by the sun; the room has a ventilator up on the ceiling; so choose a room on any floor accordingly when booking; the hotel offers some protection, though: at exactly, I guess, 8 o’clock in the morning the canvas blinds in front of each window in the rooms come out, to provide some shade, so that the rooms don’t heat up dramatically during the day.
Breakfast: GREAT, wide choice, enjoy.
Garage: in basement, charge you about EUR 12/day, you may leave the garage and come back various times a day, ticket is provided by hotel.
Internet: rip-off, EUR 8 / hour, provided by T-Mobile hot-spot only. Disgusting, WLAN and internet should be included in the services any hotel offers, even the ***** Thailand- and Cambodia hotels we stayed in about 2 weeks ago, most had internet for free, and that at a great speed ! Unbelievable !
