The stay was brief, but the hotel staff were very friendly. The room as a good 3* and was basic and comfortable. TV had no english channels (German, French and Japanese was available). The hotel as busy replacing the carpets in the common areas but generally it was mained to a good standard. Although close to the airport there was no noise from planes. There is no AC in the rooms and the night I stayed it was very warm; a fan had been provided.

I've stayed at this hotel a few times (including when it was a Best Western) and it is a pretty nice place. Good breakfast and restaurant. Rooms are small but well equipped. The airport is about 5 minutes by taxi. The neighborhood is quiet, walkable, and has a few restaurants and stores.

I arrived in Dresden very late at night after a very long flight from the U.S., and stayed at this hotel for one night (prior to attending a 4-week language course at the Goethe Institute in Dresden-Neustadt). Despite the hour, the reception desk was staffed by English speakers, the bar and restaurant were still open, and I was made to feel right at home. Although there was no bellman, I used the elevator and the hotel-supplied luggage cart to transport my luggage to my room.

My single room was small, but not uncomfortably so; and the bathroom was extremely clean and pretty large. Although the hotel is near the airport, no airplane noise disturbed my sleep. The ample buffet breakfast the next morning was good and included in my very reasonable room rate (I booked more than 28 days in advance). However, the hotel does not offer free Internet access of any kind.

While the hotel is located close to the airport, it is not near to any major Dresden tourist attractions. However, it is close to public transportation that will quickly take you to the airport or into Dresden. My cab ride from the airport to the hotel took about 7 minutes, and there is a bus from the airport that stops just in front of the hotel. In addition, the nearby Tram 7 runs into Dresden-Neustadt (about a 10 minute ride) or into the Altstadt (about 16 minutes). Even though this hotel is located in a suburb and not in Dresden proper, the efficient, nearby public transportation, comfortable rooms, and reasonable room rates make it a real bargain. I definitely would stay here again.

We originally booked Hotel Prinz Eugen, but it was overbooked by the travel page expedia. Therefore they put us in this partner Hotel Dresdner Heide. We were not informed untill we were standing in front of the reception of Hotel Prinz Eugen. They sent us then to the partner Hotel about 15 km in the other direction of town.

The hotel itself is nice and clean. The breakfast was very large and ok. We got a suite for the price of a normal hotel room because of the reservation error and could use also the wellness area. The service was very friendly.

If you don't want to stay in a smoker room, i would recommend to mention this already in the reservation, because they have here still two smoker floors and and only one floor with non-smoker rooms.

For going out it might be very useful to have a car and to drive for example to Dresden Neustadt. Which is easy to reach.. turn right once and then about 6 kilometres always straight.
