it's a bad value ... in a city filled with arts and beauty, the hotel is far from beautiful and far from the city center; it's even far from a suburban center ... in a dodgy location, loaded with stars for reasons not at all apparent ... I would have been comfortable paying 50% what I paid ... IF the entire area all the way to Hellerau builds into an arts/performance oasis, then the hotel's location would make sense ... but that's years away, and why pay big bucks now for someplace that's not great.

I was in Dresden on business and very delighted to be placed at the Park Plaza. The service was excellent, staff very friendly, rooms extremely clean and the breakfast splendid. I enjoyed my time in Dresden. Although I was there on business, I had a great time out in the evenings. The hotel is conveniently close to the Neustadt (10 mins by tram) .Also, it is rather close to the airport which was perfect for me.
The hotel has all the facilities one needs for a city trip and offers free WiFi in the public areas.
If you have a few days, try for an extended weekend, the sightseeing is worth it and I shall return for it soon. Definitely staying at the Park Plaza again!!

The rooms are very spacious, and unlike a lot of hotels, the fridge in the room is more than just for decoration, it actually kept things cold. The hotel's not really in the center, but the streetcars stopping at the corner will get you to the center in 10 minutes or so. On the other hand, its close to Neustadt train station and the airport (about 10/15 minutes by taxi). The hotel's breakfast is one of the best I've ever had in my life (i.e. chicken wings, mini-hamburgers, sausages, in addition to the regular hotel fare). The staff are nice and helpful. I would stay here again if I were to find myself in the beautiful city of Dresden again.

Stayed in the hotel on August 2007.

Location: Nothing to see in the hotel area. Didn't see even shops nearby. However, there are good tram connections from the historical centre to the hotel. The trip takes about 17 minutes from the main railway station, a little less from the historical center. The tram tickets are quite affordable in Dresden, so if you get a good price for the hotel, you easily save a lot of money.

Hotel & rooms: hotel is in very good shape, the rooms are very clean. The bathroom was spacious with a tub. We had quite a good view from the room, but obviously from many rooms you only can see the root of the hotel.

Breakfast: didn't take it. Costs 11€.

Sauna: there is a steam and a "normal" sauna in the hotel, the usage is included in the price. There is only one sauna, not a separate one for men and women. There also is a gym, but it's very very limited.
