“Great Place to Stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 January 2012

First Impressions.

This renovated castle is now a fantastic hotel complex in the Klaffenbach, area of Chemnitz and it is a fabulous place to stay. This stunning Castle is a real gem that has very good accommodation, dining facilities and the scenery in the area is beautiful. On arrival we were politely greeted and the staff were very accommodating. We did not arrive until the earl hours after a very long drive across Europe, however, the staff were very helpful and made our arrival a pleasant one. The room was spacious but basic, typical of many hotels in Germany, however, the room was very clean and had all the facilities you would expect in a hotel of this standard. The hotel complex has a number of quaint shops within the wall the castle selling all sorts of arts & crafts and 18 hole golf course .

Services & Staff.

The service at the hotel was good and the staff were very accommodating, polite & courteous at all times. This service was reciprocated throughout the hotel complex.
Restaurant, Bar & The Food.
The Hotel has snack bars, café’s and a first class restaurant all offering a unique ambience and excellent food. The courtyard is a hive of activity at weekends with traders, some of whom have small shops within the castle complex, selling a variety of gifts
Overall.
This hotel is a great little place to stay, it has very good accommodation, great little restaurants and an ideal base to explore the area. It is also within 20 -30 minutes from the city of Chemnitz which is a small but modern city. I stayed her for the Moto GP and it is only 20 minutes away fromm the Schatchnering Circuit. The 18 hole golf course at the Hotel is well maintained but can be busy at weekends. I would not hesitate to return to this hotel.

“GREEN BELT CASTLE HOTEL”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 June 2009

A wonderful; place to stay. Very attractive area, green surroundings, welcoming staff, a family hotel. Worth driving all the way from Chemnitz railway station, which is not far away , max 40 mins. Or one can drive down from Dresden airport, which is 1.5 hours drive.
Very good castle to see, stay and enjoy. The family run palce is very cosy, neat, enjoyable. Rooms are neat clean and large. Restaurant is good with a big spread of typical German break fast , which is included in room. In evenings it offers German and continental food but the chef here always helps for a particular menu of liking and trying to get to the nearest taste. He even prepared a good veg food, for Indians and also Italian. Very accommodative. They have good common areas to see, having preserved it from olden days , with a good wine celler, open air restaurant, a good walk away, and water front in the front of the castle. Also attractive is the large golf course with training school. Do not miss out its open air restaurants and wine celler.
A large and good golf course with its unique training area.A good morning walk around the castle will inspire any one.
